Recap from Chapter 2:

I started writing the book and decided to work on how the aliens were going to look. There could be a little girl, who finds refuge in a human house, after she is injected by one of the children and is turning human. I watched the clock and when it turned to 9:00, I switched off the light.

The next day, I noticed that a siren was going off. I ran downstairs and saw Angel, handing out cards to each of the girls, followed by her posse.

"Girls, these are your popularity cards. One is given to each student on campus. It will track how many parties you go to a month and what your partner's popularity is. For every point your boyfriend is above with be half a point added to yours. Have fun!" Angel spoke as she turned on her ligh blue peep-toe heels.

"So how's the story going?" A voice whispered into my ear, and I saw that it was Emily. We hugged before fixing our hair and heading up to our rooms. I grabbed my laptop and my zebra high heels. I pulled my hair into a high ponytail, and walked into the hallway.

I met Jack outside and Jesse was with Em. We held hands as I walked to my class, and right outside the door, we kissed. I walked into class, sat down the "comfortable" seat, and started to write.

After class ended, Emily and I grabbed a nearby picnic table and wrote our stories. Hers was about a medieval princess, who was transported to present time and double times as a CIA agent. I read the first and second chapter. She is such a good author.

"Hey, are you going to the party tonight?" Emily  asked, and my face went from smiling to shocked. I had almost forgotten. I checked my calendar, where I put all the parties I had already accepted invitations too, and there it was. Claire's birthday, for Angel's "smart" sidekick.

I had just finished Intro to College, when Angel and Claire popped out in front of me, pushing a bag and pair of red heels into my hands. I rushed upstairs, and pulled out a red dress that matched the shade of the shoes. I put on the dress and a little bit of makeup. Right after I finished, a siren rang for all those attending Claire's birthday, which was everyone.

I walked into the party room, which had been lit up in different shades of pink and purple, Claire’s two favorite colors. There was a huge stack of presents, a dance floor, and a snack bar. I noticed Emily on the couch, drinking what looked like a Diet Coke or whatever. I found Jack and pulled him, by his arm, onto the dance floor. We started to get into the rhythm of the song, when the DJ announced a contest.

“We will be having a karaoke contest, starting in 30 minutes. The judges will be our birthday girl Claire [applause], Angel [applause], and USHER [bigger applause].” The DJ screamed into the microphone. Oh my gosh, Usher is here?! I signed myself up for the karaoke system. This could be my chance to be discovered.

Many girls went before me, singing Usher’s song. I saw him rubbing his temple a couple of times, for girls who sang way off pitch. Then he’d clap, write down a little note, before the next girl / boy got on stage.

“Alex Conley!” They announced my name over the intercom system, and I went up onto the stage. The music cued and my eyes closed. When they opened again, it was time to sing.

I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did, I did

And you were strong and I was not

My illusion, my mistake

I was careless, I forgot

I did

And now when all is done

There is nothing to say

You have gone and so effortlessly

You have won

You can go ahead tell them

Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof tops

Write it on the sky line

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Falling out of love is hard

Falling for betrayal is worse

Broken trust and broken hearts

I know, I know

Thinking all you need is there

Building faith on love and words

Empty promises will wear

I know, I know

And now when all is gone

There is nothing to say

And if you're done with embarrassing me

On your own you can go ahead tell them

Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof tops

Write it on the sky line

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible!

Ooh impossible (yeah yeah)

I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did

Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof tops

Write it on the sky line

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did...

(A/N Hey guys, I included lyrics to the Shontelle song [Impossible] because that is the name of this series. I thought it really kicked in with emphasis. Thanks, Melany. )
