Chapter 8

Recap from Chapter 7:

"I'm not ready." 

"Jane would." 

"Then, go do it with her."

"Fine. Maybe I will." 

He just broke up with me. He walked through the door, and Angel came through, giving me a hug. Or at least I thought it was Angel. When I looked up, Ames was looking at me. Where has she been? 

"I'm so sorry. He wasn't right anyway." Ames tried comforting me, but nothing worked. He was perfect, and from what I could see, he was doing it with Jane. I closed the curtain. Then I went to sleep.

I woke up the next morning, thinking about Jane and Jack. I thought they were split up FOR GOOD. I pulled out my journal of ideas.

Idea: There once was a girl named Melany, whose household was always chaotic due to her twin sister, Vanessa. When Melany's longtime crush finally asks her out, Vanessa tries to find every possible way for them to breakup, even if it is to align with the school principal.

I picked my words carefully, choosing Jane's bad side over good to write this book. I wish she would just get out of my life ... Forever. Jack and I were perfectly happy before she came. Just when a new FaceTime message came up. 

From: Mom

I accepted quickly. I was hoping for my mom to call.

MOM: Hey, how are you doing?

ALEX: good. Jack broke up with me.

MOM: I am so sorry. How is school?

ALEX: fine, all As.

MOM: that's my girl. Hey, do you wanna see Lillian?

ALEX: yes, oh please yes.

MOM: lil, come here.

(I saw Lillian, being brought down the stairs by Chris.)

ALEX: hi Lil.

LILLIAN: Awex! 

(She can't pronounce my name.)

ALEX: don't think I don't see you Chris.

CHRIS: shouldn't you be in class?

Uh oh. I said my goodbyes and exited my room, shoving my laptop deep into my bag. I rushed, and saw Jack making out with Jane on the bench. I walked quickly away, receiving a glare from Jane. I headed into the class.

"Sorry, I'm late, Mr. Burgundy. Personal issues." I said, making him motion to my seat next to Emily.

"Are you okay?" Emily asked me, giving me a hug. 

"Jack broke up with me." I responded, playing with the tips of my hair I recently turned pink. 

"I am so sorry. He's a jerk." People would say, patting me in the shoulder.

"It's okay, I'll be fine." 

"Ice Cream Princess?" Em asked, hustling me out of class. Mr. B let us out, due to completion and success on our books. Emily had about 1M reads on her book, including likes going up to 600,000. Geez, girl.

"What would you like?" The lady asked us, letting Em give her our orders on a piece of paper. The lady told the next station, and mouthed "I'm sorry" to me. 

"Did we get that for free cause you told I broke up with Jack?" I asked, knowing Emily will do anything to save a little extra dough.

"Do you want it?" She responded, handing me my ice cream. I smiled and thanked her. 

We got back to the Writing class, where Mr. B was teaching us about character creation and screaming at William for not creating a believable character. I mean, how can a character not be able to written and be believable? I know that didn't make sense, my though right a moment ago.

I sat down in my seat, retrieving my laptop and starting on the storyline again. I decided that I would finish my book, and then deal with this Vlaydon-Angel-Jane problem. I typed out my twentieth chapter, which was all about my character being heartbroken after her boyfriend cheats on her. My life is definitely going into my story, I thought to myself.

Right after publishing the chapter, I received a comment from @unreal247.

Are you going through a breakup? You wrote with so much emotion in this chapter.

I smiled. Comments always liven my day. Emily noticed my unusually happy face, and looked shocked. 

Yeah,but I'm glad someone actually reads the book. I responded to @unreal247, and receiving a new fan, lifted me up, so I could practically kiss the ceiling. Not literally though. 

After class, Em hit me with bad news.

"I am leaving until Ms. Vlaydon is gone." 

"What?!"

"I must. I don't want to be knocked out again."

This must have hurt Em to be doing. Last time we tried to resist, she didn't wake up for 5 months. 

"I am leaving in 3 days."

"But Claire isn't here. You won't get sleeper."

"Goodbye."
