"Why do you think she's taking so long?" "I dunno Chris. Maybe she had to do something." Jacob looked out of a window. Our hide out was a tree house with small glass panes. I studied it again. The logs were held together in a stack. I looked out the large hole we call the door. Not that it isn't a door. It's pretty much a big window.
Then I realize what I'm seeing out the door. A large forest fire and a figure running towards us.
"Jacob, look!" I said to him while pointing to the figure. He turned to see what I was pointing at. His eyes enlarged,"Chris it is Emily! She's running from the fire! We have to save her." He starting running out of the door. "Come on Chris!" I ran out right behind Jacob. But the fire was hot. Burning hot. I felt dehydrated. My saliva dried up. I fell scraping my knee on a rock. "Ow!" Blood started dripping from my leg. A burning tree fell by me. It exploded into flames. My eyesight wavered. I felt like I waa drying out. "Jacob!" I tried to call, but it sounded more like "jaycub" and in a whisper. Then I saw a flash of blue and I blacked out.
