The two of us swim up to the sleek white boat anchored near Miami. It's dark out, so logic dictates that we would also wear the color, but once on deck both of us are instantly taken hold of. It never occurred to either of us there might be other mutants on board.
One of them is bright red, with a whip-like tail and a clear Russian accent. Another is a woman who Seraphina looked upon with distaste, since her outfit was too snug and thought provoking. The third they saw was a man with dark hair. She couldn't place his language, or his ethnicity though. With their three guards, all five approached a semi covered deck of sorts, where the devil himself sat.
Erik grunted when the red skinned one shoved him forward.
"Herr Doktor." he addresses Schmidt.
"Kleiner Erik Lehnsherr und schöne kleine Seraphina."
Seraphina made a face, scrunching her nose up. "Ich hoffe, Sie wissen, wie sehr ich sie verabscheue ." she said. Schmidt glanced down at her and opened his mouth to reply when he got cut off by the woman.
"They're here to kill you." She states in a monotone voice. Erik groans again, squeezing his eyes shut, while Seraphina takes a better look at the woman. She seemed to have no outward powers, which lead her to believe it was mental, or a changeable physical power. This vile creature was hurting Erik in his mind, and it infuriated her.
"After all these years?" Schmidt says, walking around a small table and picking up a glass. "Emma, we do not hurt our own kind." Filling it up he held it to his mouth and took a long drink. "Ah! Now it's a party."
"This is the U.S. Coast Guard. Do not attempt to move your vessel. Stay where you are."
The loudspeaker carrying the voice came out of nowhere, and caused Seraphina to jump slightly after being so tense and worried for Erik. Emma's face frowned.
"They have a telepath." she said, only slightly worried.
Following the words, Schmidt jogs lightly away, trying to avoid capture with his three followers in tow. Before Erik and Seraphina can catch up, a sound below them of clamps releasing alerts the two to a submarine. Not caring whether or not they'll get it, both jump into the water and attempt to pull it back with their power. Erik uses his ability to pull himself forward, leaving Seraphina to flounder back up seeing as she had no air left. Once surfaced, she then realized the ship was on fire and blowing up. Bits of debris landed everywhere, and she only just managed to block some of the heavier items from falling on her with her own power. She gasped for air as wave after wave washed over her head, when out of nowhere a boat appeared. Not caring the party on board, she did her best not to think about what she was in, and tried swimming towards the lifeboat.
Erik gasped for air once surfacing. He hadn't been able to kill Schmidt, and it made him angry. He was so close, a finger length's away.
"Get off me! Get off!" He shouted at the younger man who had pulled him up.
"Calm down, just breathe. We're here!" the other told him. Erik continued to push him away in anger and panic. He couldn't remember where Seraphina was.
Charles tried holding his hands up but he needed them to swim. The man in front of him, Erik, was panicking, but he didn't know why. Erik seemed like the solo mission type, and he couldn't believe he was this upset about missing the submarine. At least, he be angrier.
"Who are you?" Erik asked him.
"My name's Charles Xavier."
"You were in my head? How did you do it?" Erik asked quickly.
Truth be told, he only ever knew one person to do this, and it was in a moment of sheer fear and desperation that Seraphina extended her mind to him. That was the first and only time she had done so.
"You have your tricks, I have mine. I'm like you. Just calm your mind." Charles insisted. Erik looked around whilst panting. How he could see in water this dark, he didn't know.
"I thought we were alone."
"You're not alone Erik." Charles reassured him. Just then the lifeboat came speeding into view. From what Charles could see, there was an extra passenger. A woman.
"Erik!" Seraphina shouted at one of the two bobbing heads. She wasn't thinking much, just that she had to find him. A woman named Moira was the only thing she had heard properly on the boat.
"Seph!"
She leaned over and grasped his hands firmly while using her ability to help him onto the raft. She was more than concerned by now. Erik almost never showed any emotion, even to herself, though she knew his moods. Her panic and his lack of oxygen must have made him panic as well.
Once in the boat Erik tugged her into a rare hug, briefly, before letting go. Seraphina then looked to the other man.
"Thank you. ." She said, trailing off.
"Charles Xavier." was the answer.
"Thank you Charles."
