Seraphina had a brief introduction with some agents at the CIA base, before heading off on her own to find her assigned room and take a much needed shower.

After doing so she dried her hair as best she could before slipping on a heavy tee-shirt and a comfy pair of grey sweatpants.

She had given up on her hair, settling for a decent part and content to let it drip down her back when there was a knock at her door.

Opening it up, she found a woman on the other side.

"Hi, I'm Raven. Charles' sister." Seraphina smiled a little and took Raven's extended hand.

"Seraphina. Only child." Seraphina replied, though it pained her heart that was not always so. Raven smiled, and made a gesture to follow.

Seraphina did as Raven asked and accompanied her to a sort of room with a scale model of a very sleek looking plane. She couldn't recall ever hearing of this particular one, and it interested her so much so that she jumped slightly when Erik touched her shoulder lightly. She vaguely heard Charles' smooth voice before fully entering the conversation.

"It's, uh, supersonic. The most advanced plane ever built." said a voice behind her. Seraphina was startled slightly again, and turned to see a young man, seemingly around Raven's age, speaking to the group, but mostly her as she had been looking at the model. "You should see it in real life. It's incredible." he finished. Seraphina offered what she hoped was a comforting smile. In truth, she didn't have much social interaction.

Charles noticed this in the smile, which was bordering friendly and forced. He guessed she had, like Erik, avoided people thinking they were alone.

"Hank, these are the special new recruits I was telling you about." The agent turned to the group more. "This is Hank McCoy, one of our talented young researchers." Hank nodded at them all in turn.

"How wonderful!" Charles started, as he had peeked into the man's head, not fully realizing what he was saying. "Another mutant already here," Charles held his hand out," Why didn't you say?" Hank shifted uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Say what?"

Charles realized his mistake and drew back his hand slowly, and regretfully. Seraphina watched him with curious eyes. How one person could be so enthusiastic all the time baffled her. She certainly had bad days and horrible mood swings, but Charles? She couldn't picture it.

"You didn't know. . ." Charles said. "Hank, I am so, so terribly sorry."

"Hank?" he lead agent questioned again.

"You didn't ask, so I didn't tell." Hank replied shyly.

"You're mutation is what? You're super smart?" Raven quipped.

Charles shared a little chuckle with himself. "I'll say. Hank here graduated Harvard at the age of fifteen."

"I wish that's all it was."

"You're among friends now, Hank. You can show off." Charles sends a warm smile the young man's way, which is comforting enough Hank obliges. Taking off his shoes and socks reveals a set feet that are mutated. Jumping up and grabbing the model plane with said feet, he dangles from it with his hands hanging down.

"Ta da." Hank said.

Charles smiled once more. "Splendid."

For the most part of the next few hours Seraphina sat in the living room of sorts, with Raven and Charles, and of course Erik. She and him sat comfortably next to one another, with his arm draped against the back of the couch as she was leaning against him. She was tired, and mentally exhausted as well. No matter that she had faced a big fear, it still scared her stiff.

"What exactly is your mutation?" Charles finally asked, completely halting the discussion of shoes that was boring the two males. Seraphina blinked before speaking again.

"Well, I have the Mc1r gene, and is very recessive at 1-2 percent of the population-" Seraphina began, only to be cut off by Charles again. Erik smirked a little. She still liked poking fun at people's vague questions.

"Yes, yes, I see that- you studied genetic mutation?" Charles asked, his eyes widening like a kid in a candy store.

"Briefly, yes. My minor."

"Major?"

"Literature. Fiction is my favourite."

"Fascinating, but- oh, I see what you did." Charles leaned back as he had his elbows on his knees. Seraphina smirked over at him, while Raven laughed at her brother being drawn off track. "I mean your power." he concluded. Seraphina became overly interested in a shirt thread as she began to explain.

"Well, it's a bit like Erik's, only, with everything." she said in a small voice. Charles' and Raven's eyebrows raised.

"Can you move the furniture? Or smaller objects only?"

"Um, well, I suppose when exercised enough I could control very big and heavy objects. Sadly, though, I haven't used my ability in years. Sort of like a muscle." She replied. Charles nodded while Erik glanced down at her.

"Why haven't you used it? You did so when we were younger." he asked. Seraphina blushed and looked down again.

"Well, I used it when we were still together because I had you. On my own, it was lonely. I tried to fit in as much as I could, but you know I never had much control to begin with." Erik continued to stare her down, and looking up she glared right back.

Raven shifted in her seat across from them. She wasn't sure how to woman stood up to a look like that; she was uncomfortable as it was, and Erik wasn't even looking at her.

"I suppose I understand that." Erik said at last. Seraphina smiled and looked at their company.

"What about you two?" she asked.

Charles was a bit late in replying, but Raven talked first anyways.

"I can change my appearance into anybody, anytime. See." Raven's skin gracefully seemed to flip over in a wave of blue scales, and within moment Seraphina was staring at her own face. She gasped and smiled.

"Oh my! That's wonderful, Raven!" Then she frowned. "Does my hair actually look like that right now? Goodness."

Raven laughed, switching back. "You're fine. Don't worry, it isn't that bad." Seraphina  laughed then fixated her gaze on Charles.

"Oh, well, I'm a telepath." Charles tried to talk to her through his mind, but suddenly found he couldn't. He hadn't noticed before, but he could only hear Raven's and Erik's minds whispering, along with the static of other humans in the building.

"That's curious. I can't hear your thoughts." Charles stated aloud, furrowing his eyebrows.
