Guards with ready-to-fire guns flood into the room and outside. Before the small group's eyes, a man with red skin appears in the room, with two long curved blades. With wicked precision, he teleports from guard to guard, killing them efficiently. Seraphina and the other mutants stand dumbstruck as the man looks up at them. Through the door comes another man, with a strange helmet on.
Though the others don't recognize him, Seraphina immediately sees the same face her younger self hated, and feared. Sebastian Shaw, Klaus Schmidt, whoever he was, Seraphina wanted him dead. In a moment of uncontrollable anger, she made a sound close to a snarl of a rabid animal. Her newfound friends looked over at her in surprise. Schmidt heard her.
"Ah, so little Phina made some friends." Seraphina snarled at him again.
"You can drop the pacifist act."
"Ah, ah, ah," he held one finger up and turned his head to the red one. "Where's the telepath?"
"Not here."
Charles. Seraphina didn't like the sound of that, but at least they had no idea she might be one as well.
"Too bad. At least I can take this silly thing off."
The helmet was indeed silly looking. It was a fantastical object, one with the design that gave someone the sense they wanted to look powerful.
"Good evening. Some of you may know me, most by now have heard," he gave Seraphina and Raven a pointed look. "But despite the accusations that have most likely been put in your head, I am not here to hurt you.
"My friends, there's a revolution coming." Schmidt gestures widely with his arms and hands. "When mankind discovers who we are, what we can do, each of us will face a choice. Be enslaved or rise up to rule. Choose freely, but know that if you are not with us, then by definition, you are against us. So, you can stay and fight for the people who hate and fear you. Or you can join me, and love like kings and queens."
He puts his hand out, extended as if in a friendly greeting. Angel steps forward, taking the hand. Seraphina narrows her eyes at the young woman. Angel was too young to have such blood thirsty ideals, too new to the world at hand even if she had been 'dancing' for the last few years. A few gasps accompanied these thoughts.
"Angel?"
"Are you kidding me?" Raven and Alex say at the same time. Angel turns to them and scoffs, as if she knows exactly what and who she's joining.
"Come on, we don't belong here. That's nothing to be ashamed of." Angel said. Seraphina had had enough, and stepped out of the little huddle with more gasps, assuming she was going to.
"Angel, you wanted to know when I found my powers. I'll tell you." Seraphina started calmly.
Somewhere in the back, Hank could tell she was choking on her words as her German accent thickened. It wasn't too noticeable now that they all had spent time with her, but he heard it now.
"1943, or 1944, I'll never know. You see, I was taken, transported like cattle to Auschwitz. I was separated from my family, thrown in a cold shed with nothing but a threadbare blanket for warmth and expected to survive." Seraphina said, tears running down her cheeks silently. Raven also had watery eyes. She never knew her new friend's past was so horrid.
"I wasn't taken to the gas chambers like most others, I didn't work day in and out. No, I was brought to a laboratory instead. Tested, like a live specimen whose right to live wasn't justifiable. There weren't many who knew about me. But I'll tell you the one responsible for it." Seraphina raised a single hand, her eyes puffier than before. "You did this." she said. She pushed her long sleeves up, where Angel could properly see the faint scars along her forearms. Straight, precise, clearly done by someone who had knowledge of anatomy. Angel's expression was hard to read, but in that moment Seraphina could feel what Angel was feeling. It was a weird sensation, but waves of horror and disgust washed over her. Disgust for her. For the life of her, Seraphina couldn't understand it.
"You think just because you were tested like a rat with scars left over, I'll change my mind? Mutants have hidden too long. I want to be free." Angel said with a matter-of-fact attitude. With absolutely no warning, a decent sized fireball came hurtling towards her. Seraphina had just enough time to make a small shield of sorts but was still thrown back into the glass table. Her head was very fuzzy, and for the next few minutes she couldn't really understand what was happening around her.
Until Darwin walked forward.
He covered Angel just as Alex tried to blast Schmidt to pieces with his power. All that happened was the energy being absorbed. She saw Schmidt grab Darwin by the neck, say something, and prepare to do something with the absorbed energy. One of the last conscious things Seraphina did, was focus on Darwin and her enemy's hand. With a gargantuan amount of effort that caused her nose to bleed, she managed to rip Darwin from his attacker's grasp just as the energy was released, blowing a hole straight throw at least six rooms in the direction it hit the first wall behind where Darwin was. She could see Schmidt escaping again, but then the black spot in the corners of her vision consumed everything, and she fell back into a slumber like state.
Charles and Erik arrived back with Moira to complete destruction. Half the base had been murdered, the other in odd places that weren't checked. The facility as a whole wasn't operational at best. Upon entering the mutant's rec room, Erik rushed forwards in one of the rare emotional states he had. The reason; Seraphina lay on a couch passed out and bloody. Raven assured him it was just a bad nosebleed that had caused the blood, but Erik still worried. He didn't think Shaw would come to the base.
"Explain." Erik demanded after composing himself. Darwin looked at the man in confusion. He would never come to understand how one person could be somewhat caring one minute, then turn as cold as stone the second. Raven explained what happened, and Charles struck up his argument again.
"They're just kids," Charles insisted to Erik. He thought they should leave, go back home. Erik wanted them to fight.
"They. . .they were kids, Charles." All heads turned to the semi-conscious Seraphina. "We're all fighting Schmidt, Shaw, whatever. We're fighting, and I hate to contradict you, but you have no say in this matter." Charles sighed a long sigh, a sigh that hinted at the emotional burden he carried over the lives of these innocent young people. He didn't want them hurt.
"We'll have to train. All of us, yes?" he said at last. Seraphina smiled before returning to sleep. She had actually been awake the whole time they had been talking, but was too tired to add her two cents half the time.

How was that chapter? I hope I didn't make anyone uncomfortable with my made-up experience of Seraphina's time in WW2. Although, I've briefly gone over the subject in class and read a few books, as sad as I am to say so I hope it wasn't too far off, I wanted it to be realistic in a sense :(
