"Peter Parker".
"Do you have an appointment?" The secretary asked, looking from her glasses.
"Um, I started working here...yesterday" I inform awkwardly, feeling stupid.
I never had this kind of experience. The Daily Bugle was way more simple than this. I just entered, dealt with an asshole then left. It may of been scary at first but it was simple. Know I feel like I'm supposed to be important. You would think that's a good thing. It's not when you have awful social skills.
"I'll take that as a no" she remarks, typing on her computer once more.
What do I say now? I just got left at a dead end.
"So, can I see my boss?" I ask, holding my arm.
"Name?" She asks again, leaving me confused.
"Peter Parker" I repeat, unsure why she asked me again.
"No, your bosses name?" She elaborates, acting annoyed.
And it's official. I hate myself.
"Um...Tony Stark".
She dramatically rose her head, obviously not believing me. I could see it in her eyes, behind her other pair of eyes. Seriously, her glasses were the only thing I notice.
"He isn't here at the moment" she informs slowly, trying to get the idea in my head.
"Oh, sorry. I'll just...leave" I pout, thinking this would happen.
Of course he's gone. Even in one day, he's been gone more than once. I just need something to go my way once. Once. I just want those unrealistic convenient moments to happen like on tv. But this is real life. Not like that's going to happen.
"Good thing I'm here for a moments notice" Tony walks in, eating Shawarma.
I don't even know if life is real anymore. Is mine real?
"Um, good afternoon...sir" I fake smile, standing straight.
When I try my best, it ends up being the worst.
"Sir? I could live with that. But seriously don't call with that. That's what Pepper calls me" Tony winks.
"Tony, we didn't have time to get that shawarma" Pepper walks in, trying to hold both Tony's and her supplies.
"Hey, I had a mission to bring this shawarma to this poor helpless boy so he can get his girlfriend back".
Gwen.
"That's doesn't matter, Tony. We need to ge-oh, Peter. Im sorry, I didn't mean to ignore you" she apologizes, trying to hold all the supplies.
"It's fine, Pepper. Um, do you...need help?" I ask, noticing her pain.
"That would be great, honey" she hands the supplies, feeling relieved.
"Hey, excuse me. That's my nickname" Tony explains, having a mouth full of Shawarma.
"Oh, really? I thought it was sir, sir?" She mocks, walking past me, making me laugh.
