Elena's POV
The whole room was spinning but a ring at the door brought me out of my daze. I ran towards the door and forced a smile when I saw who it was.
"Stefan hey there," I grinned.
"Hey you look beautiful," he smiled.
"Yeah thanks I'm just kind of shocked about the animal attacks," I forced a small smile.
His face hardened but quickly softened,"yeah I have heard of those."
No, my heart was telling me that it wasn't true. The stories my parents used to tell us, but my brain believed.
I smiled and walked out of the house and into the car.
"Is everything okay?" Stefan asked.
"Yeah I'm just thinking about an old story my dad used to tell me." I smiled.
His face was straight but almost immediately he smiled back.
We soon arrived at the town square and everyone was lighting their candles. I quickly grabbed a candle and got it lit and ran towards Bonnie and Matt.
As soon as I started getting closer to Matt, he left.
I frowned," he's still mad isn't he."
"Yup," Bonnie said bluntly before she laughed.
"Are you sure I'm still normal to you Elena?" she asked.
"Bonnie you're my friend nothing will ever change that," I smile and hug her.
As soon as our hug finishes her smile starts to disappear. She cleared her throat and walked off before I could ask what was wrong. I turn around and Stefan was there with his unlit candle.
He smiled.
"I can't," I ran off with all those thoughts still in my head.
"Elena wait!" he yelled.
He ran towards me in the parking lot and held my shoulders.
"What's wrong Elena?" he asked worried.
"What are you?" I whispered.
"What?" he seemed scared.
"What are you?" I said louder.
He sighed and took his hands off my shoulders and started pacing around.
He looked at me with eyes filled with tears and longing.
"I'm sorry," he said softly.
"What are you Stefan?" I say louder and angrier.
"I'm a vampire," he said bluntly.
