I am tapping my hands on the table while staring at the pen hanging in front of me. I don't know if this is a gift or a curse. I have this so-called advanced telekinesis power. They say it's mind over matter. I was still young ay kinamulatan ko na ito. My parents already knew it but they didn't care less. "It's a gift darling! No need to worry". I remembered my dad telling me this line. Well coming from both occultist scientist/scientist/philosophers/alchemist or whatever they call it in the science world.

"Ada are you okay?" I glanced at my nanny beside me and the pen fell on the surface of the table.

"It's my 16th birthday and they're not here! How am I supposed to be okay?" I angrily said while looking intently at the pen. The pen randomly swayed.

"They're so busy. I hope you understand" she said calmly while brushing my hair. Yeah busy. How can I forget that word!

Nagsimula akong tumayo at sumilip sa bintana. There was a mini pool garden party, there I can see my friends partying like there's no tomorrow.

"Hey, Ada! Come on down here!" Trixie called my attention. I just waved my hand to her.

"I'm coming!" I answered back.

Pumunta ako sa harap ng salamin and check myself. I look flush and pale. I think this is the price I have to pay for staying inside the room. I am wearing short shorts, a backless sleeveless and flip-flops. I gathered all my hair and put it on top making a messy bun. I step out of the room and walk towards the garden.

"Hello, there birthday girl!" Abigail hugged me while she's holding a bottle of wine in her left hand.

"Where did you get that wine?" I coldly asked her. They just stared at each other before gaining momentum. The hell we're just 16!

"C'mon! Don't be a killjoy! It is just a wine!" They smiled sheepishly while looking at Isabelle.

"So this is your idea?" bumaling ako kay Isabelle na busy sa pagkain sa buffet table. This goddess doesn't know the word 'slow down in eating'.

"Nah. The idea came from Mara!" she answered while wiping the ketchup around her mouth.

"Men! WHY DO I HAVE TO TAKE THE BLAME?" Mara answered.

I just stared at them. They're all my friends, my true friends since were five. Nabigla naman ako nung hinatak ako ni Trixie papunta sa pool at saka kami tumalon doon.

"Damn you Trix!" hinabol ko ang aking paghinga ng ilang segundo kaming nasa ilalim. Tumawa lang ito ng tumawa habang umaahon sa pool. Umahon ako at kinuha ang pinakamalapit na towel saka nagpunas.

"Hey girls! Come on here! Let's sing a happy birthday to Ada!" Isabelle called our attention.

We gathered all at the buffet table. I was in the center of Mara and Elle while Trixie, Isabelle, and Abigail were on the other side.

"Ok. No need for long messages let's just sing a happy birthday to our beloved best friend!" Abigail cheered.

Napangiti na lang ako habang kumakanta sila ng happy birthday saken. I know my parents weren't here but I'm glad that I have friends. Masaya ako kahit sila lang kasama ko. Noon pa man sila na ang kasama ko well maybe the first reason is we're neighbors! And they're my childhood friends! We have the same school, maybe the true saying goes that birds of the same feather flocked together.

"So aren't tito Alessandro and tita Dian coming?" I sighed heavily at what Isabelle asked.

"You. And your blabbermouth!" pinitik ni Elle si Isabelle sa ilong then I heard Isabelle curse.
