'Dance.'

He could've sworn that the thought wasn't there a second before, but now that the question is out, it doesn't seem like a bad idea.

He manages to keep his face neutral so that Rue can't see his changing emotions. 'This girl makes me want to break glasses in frustration. Does she even like me after all my efforts?'

For him, the little things he did is effort enough. Now he just wants to know for sure whether it is worth it to continue vying for her attention. If she isn't Laurent's yet. He still can't take his mind off the events that happened in the afternoon.

He is watching her all the while, and she still hasn't answered his question, "Happy?"

A new tune comes flowing through the room as he asks her with his eyes, 'Can we dance?'

She looks back but shows neither a sign of agreement nor rejection.

"Care to have a dance?" He asks, out loud as he straightens himself.

She doesn't reply.

Then, Rue comes towards him and takes his hand, surprising him.

Her hand is soft and tiny, and cold, like just now when she was dreaming and held his hand while calling out his name. He smiles.

"Turn the lights off?" She inquires.

'Why? I want to see your face. Clearly.'

"Okay." He replies, even though he doesn't know why she wants to be in the dark.

Rue goes away and he is filled with a little emptiness as her touch lifts away. Soon she came back, and he feels slightly, restored.

It's all dark now except for the occasional light amidst the shadows. He puts one hand on her waist, the other holding her hand. They dance to the music, alone in the room.

Chaol doesn't know the song but he could see that Rue doesn't know how to dance, and he wonders what she thinks when she hears the lyrics as he leads her on.

"Rue..." Chaol calls, wanting her to look at him.

"Yes?" There's a hint of happiness in her voice, but all he can see are her bright black eyes, looking back at him now, reflecting the little light that came through the door that is ajar for a few inches.

Suddenly I'm feeling brave,

Rue stumbles and he catches her. They stop dancing then, but hold on to each other in an embrace, still swaying a little to the song.

'Do you like me?' Chaol thinks as he holds her close to him, breathing in her scent. Jasmine, with a little hint of lavender. Not too much, just enough.

"Is it wrong if I hear this love?' He thinks to himself. 'Are you another play girl?' He sighs. He wishes that such a thing as telepathy exists in this world, but at the same time he is thankful that it doesn't, because he wouldn't want her and other people to think that he is insane.

He can hear a little laughter in her sentence.
