Riley stared at Markus's hand, still thinking about his story. She thought demons could possess humans, but Giants? She was still puzzled about how and why demons would possess Giants rather than humans.

Or how many it would take to fully possess one... Riley thought, lost in her thoughts.

"So, you uh, you've been pacing an awful lot. You okay?" Markus asked, making Riley jump. The small human shot Markus a warning glare, making Markus chuckle.

"I'm fine! I just, have a lot of energy..." Riley said, looking at Markus's palm.

Markus looked at Riley, then remembered that bottled up energy can be bad, and can be harmful towards humans. "You wanna go for a walk?" Markus asked.

"Uh, sure." Riley answered. Maybe a walk would help her out.

"Alright, and also, stay close to me. There's a few Giants close by, and I don't want you getting caught, alright?" Markus said, getting off his bed and walking towards his desk.

"Okay. Wait, what are you-" Riley was cut off as Markus rummaged through one of his drawers, then pulled out a small, bright red collar. She had seen a person wearing one, which was a marker that they were owned. "No. No way am I a pet now!" Riley squeaked, wishing that she didn't have to wear the red harness.

"Sorry Ri, I can call you Ri, right?" Markus began, "but, unless you plan on jumping from branch-to-branch and end up falling onto a soulless giant, this is how we're going to do this." Riley growled at the giant, clearly not liking where this was heading. "Look, I won't put you on a leash, and they'll know your mine! Besides, I'm bringing my colt, too, so if anything goes wrong, I'll shoot, no questions asked."

"Fine!" Riley said, still agitated. "But try to shove me in a dress, and I'll kill you!" Riley grumbled. Markus laughed, handing Riley the harness with tags on it.

It felt weird to be back outside, and off of Markus's shoulder. Instead of wearing her boneticore chestplate, she was wearing the bright red harness, a black tee-shirt, and blue jeans. Riley was about to start her walk, when she felt the ground shake. She hadn't been on the floor too often, so she was hardly used to Markus's height and the force he applied to the ground with every step he took. She squeaked with fear, then whirled around to face Markus. He gave her an apologetic look, and she continued her walk, Markus following the small human. She felt a breeze blow against her, which turned into a gust of wind. Markus stood confused at the sudden breeze, then realized what it was. A dragon

"Riley! Get down!" Markus called, rushing towards the human. The dragon swooped down, talons outstretched, and snatched Riley. Markus's giant fingers skimmed the dragon's tail. He fumbled around with his pistol, cursing under his breath. He finally pulled out the pistol, and took the shot. The bullet clipped it's wing, sending the reptilian beast spiraling out of the air.

Riley thrashed in the wyvern's grip, trying her best to escape. As it soared higher, she felt as if Markus had planned this, that he wanted her dead. He just didn't have the heart to do it. A loud bang, followed by a painful screech ripped through the air. Moments later, she was falling. She heard the dragon trying to grab her with its mouth, and she allowed it to do so. Either way, she'd end up dead. She landed on soft but rough surface, then blacked out upon impact.
