I fumbled through my closet, looking for a proper dress to wear. I had only thirty minutes left to get ready and I haven't picked out anything to wear yet. I slashed over dress after dress but there was nothing I could wear. I eyed the pink dresses, to the purple ones, to the blue ones, to the white ones, the red ones, but there was nothing I could possibly wear.

A knock resounded at my door, making me jump. I sighed, walking over and opening the door. Mom gave me a weak smile, "You're fuming, honey."

I sighed, "I don't know what to wear, Mom."

She walked over to my closet, sliding the hangers of the dresses one by one. She fingered the cotton material and rested on a navy blue dress. Mom took the dress out, looking over at me, "This looks beautiful. You never wore this before."

My eyes roamed over the material. I forgot I had those, I thought. I mentally face palmed myself before taking the dress from her, "Thanks, Mom." She nodded, grinning up at me.

The dress was navy blue with embroidered navy blue hearts surrounding the entire material, camouflaging into the whole dress. It hugged my figure like it was a second skin, slightly pinching my waist to make it look slimmer. The dress ended just above my mid thighs, accentuating my legs. I took hold of the chocolate brown garter belt and snapped it around my waist, hugging the already tight material to my body.

I took a once over look of myself on the vanity mirror before sitting myself down and swiping mascara on my eyelashes, making them look longer and curlier. I dabbed on a pink lip gloss, adding color to my skin and powdering my cheeks with a bit of blush as to not look pale. Taking hold of the curling iron, I rolled my hair per parts, making big rounded curls. I tied my hair up into a half pony-tail, leaving a short strand to fall on the left side of my face, framing it.

Travis called me up a few hours ago just as I was taking a break from the world; my feet hitched up on my study table, my laptop on, blaring music to my entire room, a book propped up on my legs, and a steaming mug of coffee waiting to be gulped down sat on my desk.

My phone rang unceremoniously on the nightstand, I waited for the ringing to subside but when the caller was so persistent on talking to me, I finally closed my book and snatched my phone from the table.

I punched the green button without looking at the caller I.D., "Hello?"

"Allie," Travis breathed, a smile creeped up on my face, "I was beginning to think that you were busy that's why you weren't answering."

I laughed, "Is there something I can help you with, baby?"

I pictured him smiling on the other line, "Well, today's my mom's birthday and I just wanted you to," he paused, "I want to take you to have dinner with us."

I pursed my lips.

"Allie?" Travis broke through the other line, "are you there?"

"Uh, yeah," What am I going to wear?!, I thought, "what time is it?"

He chuckled, "I'll pick you up around 6, ok?"

I nodded, forgetting that I was on the phone and that he couldn't see, "See you."

He made a kissing sound, "I'll see you later." I ended the line and started throwing my clothes onto the floor in complete panic.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror, smacking my lips and blinking rapidly before standing up and crossing over to the closet and sliding into my brown high heeled mary janes.

The door bell rang, making my heart race, I took another look of myself in the mirror before grabbing my purse and heading downstairs.

"Well, well, well," Mom chimed in standing on the foot of the stairs, smiling, "who are you and what did you do to my daughter?"
