I answered the phone.
"Hello." I said
"Haneen, hey." He sounded happy. "I would've just texted you, but telling you about me could take hours to text so I thought why not."
"I'm not complaining." I laughed
"Well, where do I start?" He stated "Um, my favorite movie is 'Happy Gilmore'. My favorite food is a good juicy burger. I love the color black. I like girls who know what they want in life. I love my best friends. They mean the world to me. My mom and dad are my life. Um, favorite ice cream is cookie dough. My soft spot on girls is lip biting. I prefer Coke over Pepsi." He went on.
"Haneen I can honestly go on for hours if you want. But that's not why I called." He admitted.
"Oh really?"
"Yeah I was wondering if you wanted to come over? You said on can cook and bake, so I wanna see if you really can." He asked.
"Um, you want me to come over to cook for you?" That sounded so bizarre. That wasn't the real reason he wants me to come over, is it?
"Well I want to hang out with you, but I figured it would sound less weird if I asked this way." He laughed.
"Well I would have said yes either way. But what do you have in mind?" I asked him.
"I'm in the mood for chicken Alfredo. And for dessert some brownies." He told me.
"Okay, sounds good. On one condition though." I teased.
"Yeah?"
"You have to come grocery shopping with me tomorrow."
"We have a deal. I'll pick you up at two tomorrow. Be ready." He said.
"See you then." I added.
"For sure." He said. "I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow." He admitted.
"Me too."
He paused for a second.
"Wow, is it really two a.m.?" He asked
I looked at my phone. It was 2:15 a.m.
"Yeah I guess so."
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay." I whispered.
"Goodnight." He also whispered.
"Goodnight."And with that I hung up the phone and slept like a baby.
I woke up to the sun coming through the window. Nothing I hate more than me having to wake up because of how bright the sun is. I grabbed my phone and checked social media. Once I finished I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and washed my face. Once I was done I hoped in the shower. I washed my body and shaved my legs. When I was done I grabbed my shampoo and cleaned my hair. After I was all done I grabbed two towels, one for my hair and one for my body. I went to my closet to pick an out fit out. I wanted something cute but still comfy. I went with navy jeans a white long sleeve shirt and a blue floral hijab. Of course I grabbed my white converse to go with my outfit. Once I was all changed I moved onto makeup. I did my foundation, put some concealer and bronzer. I added some highlight and mascara. To make my eyes pop. I added a shimmer eyeshadow to my inner corners. I decided on a nude pink lip today. I grabbed my light brown bag and picked up my phone. Just on time I got a text from Yahya.
"Be there in five ;)" I smiled and replied back.
I went downstairs with a smile on my face. I couldn't wait to spend time with him. I want to get to see what he's like. I saw his car pull up in the drive way so I went out side. He opened the door and looked at me. His eyes stared into mine.
"You look really nice." He smiled as he opened the car door for me.
"Why thank you." I said. His car was nice. It was a white Lexus.
When he got in he looked at me and said, "Get ready for the best grocery shopping of your life."
"What?" I laughed.
He turned up the music and it happened to be one of my favorites. It was 'Cheap Thrills' by Sia.
"I love this song." I sang along.
"Baby I don't need dollar bills to have fun tonight."
"I love cheap thrills." He sang along
"But I don't need money as long as I can feel the beat.."
For some reason I felt like I've known him for ever. I was super comfortable around him. It's like as soon as I got in the car everything went away. It was just me and him.
Once we got to the store we walked together inside and he grabbed a cart. I went to the pasta section and grabbed a box of spiraled pasta along. Yahya grabbed the heavy cream, garlic and Parmesan. I began walking to the sweets section when someone picked me up. It was Yahya.
"What are you doing! Oh my god. I'm going to kill you." I shouted but he wouldn't put me down. Once he finally did, I grabbed some cocoa powder so I can make the brownies tonight.
"All set?" He asked.
"Yep." He payed for the ingredients and we headed to the car.
"I hope you're an actual good cook." He joked.
"No I'm a terrible cook." I lied. "Obviously I'm a great cook Yahya."
"Sarcastic and cocky. I like it."
"Shut it." I playfully hit his arm and laughed.
