My alarm rang at six thirty a.m. today. It's the day of Jehan's wedding and we had to be ready by ten for pictures. I quickly checked my social media as I do every morning and once I was done I went to the bathroom. After washing and cleansing my face, I brushed my teeth. I grabbed my razor and went in the shower. Once I was done shaving my legs, arms, and under arms, I washed my hair and body. The warm water hit my back and I felt relaxed, I didn't want to get out. Knowing I had to I got out and blow dried my hair until it was completely dry. I then headed over to my closet to grab my robe and went over to the vanity. I grabbed all makeup I was going to be using and sat down in the chair. My sister was getting her makeup done professionally along with my mom, but I wanted to do mine on my own. I played some music and began.
I first primed my face and moved on to my eyes, I primed them with concealer and set it with powder. I wanted to do a purple look today since my dress was purple so that's what I did. Once I finished the shadow, I did a bold wing on both sides of my eyes. I added falsies and mascara, then moved onto my face. Grabbing my 'Nars' foundation, I applied that evenly with a beauty blender. I concealed my under eyes, chin, forehead and the bridge of my nose with my Maybeline 'Age Rewind Concealer. I wanted my under eyes to be bright as hell so I made sure to use a light concealer. I baked my face with a translucent powder. Using my Anastasia contour kit, I bronzed up my face along with a harsh and sharp contour. I dusted away the baking powder and got ready for my favorite part. I took my Anastasia Glow kit and highlighted my cheekbones to the gods. I love me some highlight. Lastly, I put on this pretty light purple liquid lipstick and sprayed my face generously with Mac Fix +, to make sure my makeup would stay on all day.
After taking a few videos and selfies of my makeup, I posted them on snapchat. I also uploaded one of the videos of my makeup onto Twitter and a selfie on Instagram. I walked over to where my dress was and got changed. I put on a lace bra and panties, deodorant and then put my body suit on. Slipping on my dress and putting my shoes on, I walked over to my mirror to do my hijab all fancy. I finally had finished around nine thirty and took a few more selfies for snapchat. I grabbed my clutch and headed downstairs."C'mon Haneen, we have to head to Downtown to take our pictures so we can make it back here for family pictures." My sister had told me. She was all dressed and she looked stunning.
"Jehan! You look beautiful!" I hugged her and then we went into the limo. Her soon to be husband was sitting next to her and holding her hand. I snapped a photo of them on snapchat and uploaded it.We were all done taking all the pictures we needed to and it was about five forty five. Everyone decided to head to the banquet so we can arrive early.
Yahya's POV
I was changing into my suit while waiting for Ahmad to get ready.
"Yo, you done?"
"Just about, You?" I asked.
"Yeah, meet me in my car."
I sprayed cologne on and grabbed a piece of mint gum. I looked into the mirror. "You can do this. It's going to be fine." Grabbing my phone I headed downstairs to Ahmad's car. I opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat. My foot wouldn't stop tapping and I was chewing on my lip so had I think it started to bleed.
"Chill out man, it's gunna be fine. Why are you so nervous?" Ahmad asked me.
"Because bro, she's everything to me. I can't believe I lost her for almost a month."
"You'll get her back, trust me. You guys are like meant to be together."
"I hope so. I sure do." I whispered the last part.It took about fifteen minutes to get to the banquet and when we arrived I seen Haneen walk in to the place. I swear how is she even real.
"Let's go." Ahmad said getting out of his car.
"When do I tell her man?" I asked him.
"When you see her. Just like we planned."
I let out a nervous breath and paused. When I finally got the guts, I opened the door and entered the banquet. Music flooded the place and people were already dancing. Mostly lady's though which is how we do it in Arab weddings. First the lady's dance, then the bride and grooms family walks in and then the bride and groom it self walks in and then everyone dances.
I searched the room for Haneen. I couldn't find her at first so I decided to go look for her out in the hall. Just as I stepped out, I seen her exit the bathroom.
Here goes nothing.
"Haneen!"Haneen's POV
I was in the bathroom touching up my makeup before going inside. I seen a few relatives that I said hi to, after taking a few pictures with them, I headed to the banquet.
"Haneen!" I heard a familiar voice shout. Yahya?
I turned to see that he was jogging over to me. I paused.
"Haneen. I need to talk to you." He told me grabbing my hands.
"Me too."
"Okay, go first." He told me.
"I'm sorry. I am. I'm sorry that I didn't believe you. I'm sorry that I didn't even trust you. I love you. I really do and I've missed hearing your voice and I missed you." I had tears in my eyes and I hugged him.Yahya's POV
I let out of breath of relief. I hugged her back. I didn't want to let go. But I had to.
"Why didn't you trust me? I was telling you the truth. Haneen, it's just you. Only you. I don't care about anyone else. I would never break your heart, I know what we've both been through to want to go through it all over again. Why didn't you believe me though? It kind of made me feel that our relationship wasn't strong enough, that you believed something about me without asking."
"I'm sorry, I wanted to believe you. I did. But my heart, is so fragile I couldn't handle another heartbreak so I had to do what I had to do. I'm sorry. Please don't ever leave. I miss you, please just hold me right now."
"It's okay. Just know that I love you and only you. I love you okay?" I did as she asked and held her in my arms. Damn did I miss her. Okay Yahya, do it. I let go of her and she looked up at me. She's so precious. She looked flawless today. She's not perfect but that's the best part. I loved her so much. I looked into her eyes, then at her lips.Haneen's POV
His eyes kept moving from my eyes to my lips. He put his hand on my cheek and leaned in. He stopped right before our lips could touch. He looked into my eyes and said 'I love you' and then kissed me. I kissed him back almost immediately and our lips moved together in sync. I swear to god there were fireworks every where. He smiled through the kiss and then pulled away.
"I've been waiting forever to do that." He smiled.
"I love you Haneen."
"Couldn't have asked for a better first kiss than with I guy I love. I love you too." He kissed me again but this time it was a quick kiss and when he pulled away he said "let's go."It was midnight and we were still dancing. The music was so loud and had everyone moving. When the night was over, everyone took pictures with the bride and groom and went home.
"Haneen, we gotta go but this was a nice wedding. Congrats and tell your sister congrats for me as well." Yahya and Moe came up to me.
"Thank you for coming, really." I hugged Ahmad and Yahya.
"Wait for me by the door. Don't leave." I whispered in Yahya's ear. He nodded and went by the door.I stayed in the banquet a little longer to get everything we needed to and helped my sister get ready to go to the airport for her honeymoon. I changed out of my dress in the bathroom and put on a pair of leggings, a hoodie and a black hijab. I walked over to Yahya and he smiled when he seen me.
"Thanks for waiting. Let's go to my car, yeah?"
"Where we going?" He asked.
"C'mon!" I grabbed his hand and walked over to my car. He was about to get in the car until I turned him around so he was facing me.
"I've really missed you, Yahya." I told him.
"Me too, I don't even think I slept properly all month."
"If my makeup wasn't covering my under eye circles, you can tell that I haven't slept either." I joked. He laughed this soft laugh that made me smile.
"The things you do to me." I whispered and leaned in to kiss him. He opened the door to the car without pulling a part and sat down. I was sitting on top of him and we just kissed for a little while. Nothing too rough. It was really soft. I pulled apart from him and ran my fingers through his hair.
"You know something?" I asked him.
His hands were on my lower back.
"You're my first kiss."
"Really, so how was your first kiss then?"
"Perfect." I told him.
"Good." He leaned in again but I moved my head back. He looked in my eyes trying to figure out why I moved back.
"Did I ever tell you what wonderful green eyes you have." I teased.
"I hate you." He laughed.
"You love me."
"You right, you right." He pulled me in and kissed me. I laughed.
"Yahya."
"Yeah?" He pulled away.
"It's one thirty. We gotta go home." I told him.
He pulled me in an wrapped his arms around me.
"But I don't want to let go. I wanna stay here forever." He whined.
"As much as I want to, we can't." I kissed his cheek and sat in the drivers seat. I started my car and began to drive.
He grabbed my hand and we talked the whole ride home. Damn I'm glad I finally got him back.
