Vincent’s P.O.V
I became tired of fighting so I decided to let go and joined Daniel and Faith. After few minutes of walk I couldn’t smell Eve around I turned to see her but she wasn’t there. This made me tense.
“Where is Eve!?” I asked anxiously.
Daniel and Faith stopped walking and turned as though they would find Eve standing behind me.
“I thought she is coming with you. Wasn’t she?” Daniel asked
“I don’t know if she was or not.” I replied
“What do you mean you don’t know if she was coming with us? And you didn’t even care to look for once to make sure she is?” Faith lost her temper.
“I was too angry at her.” I was dying with guilt that I left her alone in the woods.
“Angry?? You were angry enough that you left her to die there? She is a human Vincent!!” Faith scolded me once again, remarking as if noticing the first time that she is a human.
“We are half way to home and now you realized she’s not with us.” Daniel said with a sarcastic laugh.
“Okay I am sorry stop getting on my case now. We should search for her.”
“No we don’t. It’s you who should. Did you even ask her to come with us?” Faith said I didn’t have time to answer that I started running back to the place where we were standing before. It started to snow heavily in the way. When I reached the spot she wasn’t there. I started running furiously here and there calling her name loudly. Then I found her sitting beside a tree trunk. Her arms griping on one another around her legs, her head low down hiding between her legs and chest. I sat in front of her and tapped her she pulled her head up to see me. Her eyes were red and questioning. I could see that she had been crying. After seeing her in this state I felt extremely horrible I took her hand which was icy cold and made her stand as I stood up. I was surrounded by thousand feelings I wanted to hug her and tell her I am sorry but I didn’t had the guts to say or do anything so I decided to just take her home as soon as possible.
When we reached home Daniel and Faith were in the kitchen having hot cocoa. Eve was standing still hugging herself, her eyes meeting the ground.
“I think you should go and change otherwise you will catch cold.” I said, trying to be polite.
She looked at me and then went to her room. I went to change too. After changing I came outside Faith and Daniel were discussing a movie sitting on a couch. I sat on the other one smaller than that.
“Hey where is your cat?” I asked Faith
“Snowball, oh she must be here somewhere she will come to me as soon she feels hungry.” She replied
“Guess Daniel and snowball are quite alike” I said teasingly.
“Please I hate that cunning little ball of fur. We can never be alike.” Daniel replied annoyingly which made Faith laugh.
“She is such a cute cat I can’t get it why do you hate her.” Faith asked.
“It’s simple she’s a thief she steals you from me. Every time she’s around I am ignored.” Daniel complained with a pout on his face.
“Oh that’s so not true, love.” Faith responded to his pout.
“Hey Eve didn’t come downstairs did she?”I asked suddenly remembering about her.
“Nope she is still in her room I guess.” Faith replied.
I got up to go to her room.
“Do you want me to check on her?” Faith asked standing up.
I didn’t replied and went towards her room she came after me anyway. Behind her was Daniel. I knocked at her door but she didn’t answer I knocked again this time harder and called her name too, making sure she hears me but no answer. I turned the knob and pushed open the door. She wasn’t in the room I knocked at the bath room door no answer I opened it first slightly then the whole no one was there. Faith called me from behind a very soft call I turn to see her standing by the closet I could hear sniffing sounds now. I walked half a step but Faith motioned me not to come. She opened the door and there Eve was crying hugging a pillow. When she realize that the closet door is opened she looked up tears falling from her eyes down to her cheeks. I was feeling miserable what should I do to make her feel better. Faith let her come outside the closet when she came out she hugged Faith and started crying a little louder. Faith signaled us to leave the room so we did.
