[I'm aware the times aren't exactly matching up with the times in the show but it's for the stories sake]

We left the druid's cave the next day. I'm not sure where we were going, but I knew we needed to get out of Cenred's kingdom.
Two days after that, Mordred and I accidentally stumbled upon a group of smugglers, but leave it to Mordred to talk them into having a conversation with us.
"The name's Tristan, this is Isolde." A man with strawberry blonde hair says, wrapping an arm around Isolde. Mordred and I nod in return. "I'm Mordred, this is Taylor." He says using the name that I went by in Cenred's kingdom.
"Where ya heading?" Tristan asks. "Not sure actually, maybe Camelot." Mordred responds. "Hm, we don't accommodate with new people." Tristan says, eyeing the two of us up and down.
"Please sir, we have nowhere else to go. If you allow us to tag along we can be of use, I promise. We both know how to use weapons." I speak up. The man looks over at his wife. "Tristan they're just kids, come on let them stay." She smiles and he sighs and looks over at us. "Where are your parents?"
"They're gone." Mordred says before I can say anything.
"Fine, you can stay. But one slip up," he holds a dagger up at the two of us, "you're out." Then he lowers the dagger and laughs. "I'm kidding, just don't do anything reckless."

That night we sit around a fire with Isolde and Tristan. "So you say you'd go to Camelot?" Tristan asks. I nod. He glances over at Isolde. "We were going to head there, I don't suppose you heard?"
"Heard what?" Mordred asks.
"The lady Morgana has taken over the castle. There's an army at her disposal. The king has been imprisoned and the prince is missing. Serves them right I assume."
My mouth goes dry. Morgana? "Taylor, are you alright? You've gone extremely pale."
I force a smile. "I'm fine thank you, but I fear my family may be in danger."
Mordred grabs my hand. "I think I need to go." I whisper, standing up. Mordred stands up with me. I look over at Tristan and Isolde. "Thank you both for your kindness. I will never forget this." I walk over to my horse and pull out a pouch of gold. I bring it back over to them. "It isn't much, but one day I'll repay you with more. I really must be going."
Mordred grabs my arm before I can get on my horse. "You're leaving?" He asks. I nod. "You don't have to come with me, I'd prefer if you didn't anyways." I whisper. He stares at me in disbelief. "Scarlet, I promised to always be by your side."
"It isn't safe."
"It's not safe for you either."
I look into his eyes. "I'll be okay. You should stay with these people, I worry that if you went with me you may die."
He stares at me for a moment before leaning in and kissing me. When we pull away, he rests his forehead on mine. "We will meet again. I promise you that." He whispers and I nod. "Until then." He helps me saddle my horse and I wave at my newfound friends.
As I ride off I speak in Mordred's mind. "Thank you."

I've been riding for a day and a half, searching for anyone that I knew, I didn't find anyone. This was one of the first times I've been alone since Mordred found me. I'm really missing him, but I knew that he wouldn't feel welcomed in Camelot until he knew for sure that his powers weren't as powerful as they once were.
