A/N: I'm changing some things up, so in this story Mordred never tried to help Alvarr.

~1 Month Later~

One month. One whole month I've been away from Camelot. Seems a little long for a 14 year old ex-princess to survive. I believe I'm far enough away from Camelot now, I had plans to leave for Ealdor, but then I realized Merlin left there for a reason, the reason may be unknown but I feel as though I wouldn't be accepted there, so I've been travelling alone, well not alone alone, I've had my horse with me but still. Not exactly sure where I am, but I know it isn't anywhere near Camelot. Only in a matter of weeks will it be winter, I'm afraid the clothes I have aren't exactly suitable for it, soon I'll need to make a trip somewhere to get some.

I lean against a tree near the river as the horse drinks from it. I've not got any sleep most of the time that I've been away. Whenever I'm having a decent sleep it's always interrupted by my paranoia. I ran out of food a couple of days ago, I feel as if I'm starving. Most people can go days without eating, but with me being a privileged princess I don't know what it's like to starve, something I'm glad to be away from. Being a princess was okay and all, I just felt terrible how our lives were better than a lot of people's. I guess now I'm one of those people. Now my life consists of me sitting by the river and eating apples with a horse. Only a small part of me misses Camelot. Just the rest misses Morgana, Arthur, Gaius, Merlin, anyone else who I was close with, even my father. I just don't miss the responsibilities.

A twig snapping brings me out of my thoughts. Hazel raises her head up from the water in suspicion. My eyes land on the dagger my brother gave me the night of my departure, slowly I reach out to grab it.  Two men emerged from the trees, each armed with a sword. If things go down hill I'm sure to lose. The taller man  steps forward and smiles a devious smile revealing a mouth with many missing teeth. "Well well, what's a little girl like you doing all the way out here alone?" I stand up, keeping my grip on the dagger tight. "Look, I don't want any trouble." I try and sound confident except my words come out soft. The two men laugh. "Put that knife down girl you're embarrassing yourself. You wouldn't hurt a fly." I bite the inner corner of my lip. "We'll see about that."

"Was that a threat? Know what, I'm going to pretend I didn't hear anything and let you live, if-" his eyes dart over to my horse, "you give us half of your supplies AND the horse."

"I'm afraid I can't do that." I feel my hand start to tremble, showing a sign of weakness. "Then I guess we'll just have to take it from you." Both men draw their swords, I hold my dagger out away from me like Arthur taught me. "Come on you guys, is this really a fair fight? I mean, I'm just a child with a dagger, you're two grown men with swords." I try to reason, I really don't want to fight. Seeing as whenever my brother and I would train together he always won, and I'm not as experienced as most people.

"We don't care about fairness."

"Then that's where you're wrong." Before I can say anything else the tall man's sidekick starts at me with sword in hand. In this situation my dagger is no use unless I intend to kill him.

"Oferswing!" I incant, the man is sent flying back. The other man smirks. "A sorceress, how cute. I bet you'd fetch a mighty fine price back in Camelot."

"I bet I wouldn't."

I'm not sure what I was hoping for, the man being afraid of my magic and running off, or the man not being afraid so I didn't feel like some sort of monster. "Go ahead girl, strike me, I dare you." The man's taunting words tear at me like my secret about having magic did.

"Wait, I think the boss'll wanna see this one." The man who I knocked down says regaining consciousness. "And why's that?"

"That's the Princess of Camelot."
