It had been about a week since James and I kissed at the park. Since then we had kind of become an item. We went to the park everyday after school and sat on "our" bench. We walked everywhere together, and he came over to my house a couple times. I was so glad that we were finally together, I knew he was the one.
I went to school one morning, and James wasn't there. He missed a lot of school all the time, and I didn't know why. I went through the day without him, and when it came to lunch time, I had to sit in the cafeteria since he wasn't at school. When I sat down, Laden showed up. I hadn't talked to him much since James and I had gotten together.
"Where have you been?" He asked, as he sat down.
"I've been around." I answered.
"Well, you should sit with me more often."
"Technically you sat with me."
"Whatever, babe."
"Don't call me babe, I'm not your babe." I said as he started leaning in to me. I pushed him away. "What are you doing?"
"I was about to kiss you."
"I don't want you to kiss me, don't you know I have a boyfriend?"
"You have a boyfriend?"
"Yeah."
"Who?"
"James."
"You and James?"
"Yeah."
"Since when?"
"About a week. I guess."
"A week isn't that long, you and I could still happen."
"What!?" I said as I stood up. "You are a pig, I don't want to date you, and I definitely don't want give your friend either!" I picked up my books and walked out of the cafeteria.
I walked into the library, and sat there until lunch was over. I went to the rest of my classes, and then school was pretty much over. After school, I asked people if they knew where James lived, because I wanted to see him. I asked almost everyone, but no one knew where he lived.
I walked home, after deciding I wouldn't be able to find him. On the way home, I couldn't help but stop at "our" park I sat at our bench for a little while, until I decided to just go home.

James didn't show up at school for the rest of the week. After the weekend, when I went back to school he was finally there. I walked up to him, we hadn't talked the whole time he was gone.
"Hey, you're back." I said excitedly.
"Yeah, I guess."
"Where were you?"
"I was just." he paused. "busy."
"Busy?" "Too busy to come to school?"
"I mean, I was on vacation."
"Oh, where did you go?"
"Umm, we went to Florida."
"Really? Cool."
"Yeah, it was nice."
"Cool, so what did you do?"
"We, went to see family."
"Oh, ok." I said as we started walking to class.
When school was over, we met up outside the school to walk to the park. I got to the front of the school first, and soon after he met up with me.
We started walking down the sidewalk, as he took my hand in his. We walked to the park, and sat on our bench.
"So, where did you go in Florida?"
"Oh, just around."
"Did go to any beaches?"
"A little, but my family doesn't live real close to the beach."
"Oh, I thought you would have a tan, but you actually look a little more pale than usual."
"Oh, it's probably just cause you haven't seen me in a while."
"Ok."
"Can we stop talking about this? Please?"
"I guess."
"Great, because I missed you and there is something else I'd rather do."
I but my lower lip as he finished his sentence. Then he leaned in and kissed me. we kissed for a little while, and then we just continued to walk home. He always walked me all the way to my house, even though he would have to go back to get back to his. I watched him walk back the way we had just came, out the living room window until he was out of view.
