Chapter 6

I woke up the next morning inside of Kaylin's arm. It felt so good to wake up next to him. I turned around and kissed him. His eyes fluttered open.

"Hey" I said.

"Hey" he said placing a kiss on my forehead. There was a long silence and then I broke it.

"We should start getting ready for school" I told him. He averted my gaze and looked away.

"Kaylin" I said concerned.

"Syd I don't think I want to go today. I just don't really feel like being bothered" He informed me.

"Okay I understand"

"Will you stay here with me?"

"Of course I could lay in your arms all day" he smiled.I loved his smile. It made me feel all warm inside. I buried my face into his chest and fell back asleep.

I walked into the school and headed for my classes. Kaylin still didn't come today because he still wasn't quite up to it yet. I told him I didn't want to get behind. I kind of felt bad for leaving him. I didn't want to be selfish but I had to come to school. He told me that he would probably be gone when I got home. He was going to go view his dad's body.

I felt so bad for him, losing a parent like that and then finding out about his mom's infidelity at the same time. I knew he had to feel horrible on the inside.

I saw Nate walking up to me as I made my way down the hall. I really didn't need his bullshit right now.

"Sydney where have you been?"he asked.

"Why do you care?" I asked back.

"Because we got a project due in four days and we really need to finish it" He muttered. I had completely forgot about that.

"Ohvsorry I forgot, you can just come over to my house tonight and we can work on it." I told him.

"Okay, oh and how's Kaylin? Everybody kind of heard about his dad, I tried calling him but he didn't answer" He said.

"He is doing well, he's getting through it I guess" I told him.

"Well let him know that I'm sorry about what happen and that we are all here for him" he muttered.

"Okay I will do" I told him.

I walked in my house and called out Kaylin's name. No answer I guess he wasn't here. I went up stairs to my room and I decided to take a warm shower.

I got out the shower and put on some sweat pants and a tank top. I was headed to look for something to eat when the doorbell rung. I went to answer it. Nate was at the door. I had completely forgotten that I had told him to come over to work on the project. I motioned for him to come in and he just stood there staring at me.

"What?" I questioned.

"Damn you got wet just thinking about me coming over" I looked down at my appearance and rolled my eyes.

"Shut up. Come on so we can work on this project" We went upstairs to my room and laid everything that we had out.

"We got a lot to do" I muttered.
