I feel it

Stevie was getting more and more anxious with each minute. She had her suitcase packed and she was ready to leave, now she only had to wait for Lindsey to arrive and pick her up. Naturally, thoughts like, what if he doesn't want me going along with him anymore, and such, were occupying her mind. Although, her fears (hopefully) were about to be diminished, as the doorbell rang and she rushed into the hallway, pulling the door open to find Lindsey with that sexy smirk on his face.

"Eager?"

"No, I, uh... I just wasn't sure if you were still coming or not." Stevie stumbled over her own words, letting Lindsey through into her home.

"I wouldn't even think of leaving you behind. Do you have everything packed?"

"Yeah, I'm ready to go."

"Good." He gave a small nod of his head, picking up her suitcase. "After you."

Stevie was relieved that they were going to the airport alone, she was slightly nervous about meeting his bandmates and other personnel. What were they going to think about her? What had Lindsey told them about her if he had to start with? Will they see her as some kind of groupie? Shaking those thoughts away, Stevie smiled at Lindsey, when he placed his hand over hers.

"Everything's going to be fine."

"How did you know what I was thinking about?"

Shrugging his shoulders, Lindsey reached for his sunglasses. "Just a hunch."

They chatted idly while on their way. It was rather strange to the both of them how natural everything felt, despite the fact they barely knew each other. Stevie only partly made a joke about maybe knowing each other in the past life and Lindsey didn't dismiss that idea, which was a relief, knowing he didn't think she was crazy.

"Have you said anything to Joe?" Lindsey then asked, since they basically ignored the matter.

"I thought of coming up with a story, I knew my girls would have covered for me, but... I called him and he said he wasn't coming back any time soon, so I didn't tell him anything. If he returns before I do, well... so be it." Stevie replied, looking out the window. She wasn't exactly proud of her actions, but she knew her relationship with Joe was as if it was over already, just not officially, though, she was going to get to that step sooner rather than later most likely. She simply wanted to see where this whole thing with Lindsey was headed to. If it was...

Once they arrived, Lindsey took Stevie by the hand, leading her towards others, feeling her palm a tad sweaty against his. "Will you stop?" He asked her again. "Hey, guys." Lindsey then greeted his band members, who were all already waiting to board the plane, saying their hellos in return. He then introduced Stevie and she was glad, she didn't get any dirty looks or anything like that. It was definitely a warmer welcoming than she had expected it to be.

In just a matter of minutes, the whole crew was seated on the plane, awaiting takeoff. They were headed to New York, so it was a few hours flight, aware of that, Stevie made herself comfortable by Lindsey's side, snuggling up to him, as he put his arm around her, pressing a kiss to her hair.

"Sorry we're leaving so early."

"It's okay. I'll be perfectly fine, getting to sleep like this." She smiled, looking up at him, as he leaned in to kiss her on the lips now. "How many days are we going to be in New York?"

"Well, the show is tomorrow night and I think we're leaving the next day after that."

"Do you think there will be time for a nice stroll through the city? I haven't been to New York in ages."

"We'll have some time to ourselves, yeah. I'm going to make sure of that."

Growing quiet for a couple of minutes, Stevie then looked around, not wanting any eyes on them, as she asked. "What is this, Lindsey?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, why did you ask me to come along? I'm sure it's not that hard for you to find someone to warm up your bed at night."

"While that is true, I... I've realized that I don't want just anybody. I want you. And if I'm honest with you - it scares me. I don't think it's that big of a secret now that I like you a lot. I rarely get this feeling and I don't know how to deal with it, because I don't want to fuck it all up."

"Are you saying that..." Sitting up straight, Stevie turned towards him. "... that you're hoping something comes out of this? That you'd like something with me?"

"I guess, yeah. See? I'm not good with words." Sighing, Lindsey shook his head, wanting to put his feelings into words better.

"You're not good with words? Linds, you're a singer. you write songs for a living." Stevie laughed lightly, taking his hands, lacing her fingers through his. "I'm hoping for the same thing, too you know..."

"Don't feel like I'm pressuring you into it, please."

"I'm not, far from it. Since the first night we met, I... I felt something between us and I want to cherish it and make it blossom."

Drawing her back closer to him, Lindsey had a content smile crossing his lips. "I just want you to know that even though I'm struggling with ways to express it, I do feel it in... in my heart."

Stevie wasn't quite sure how to reply, as she wasn't expecting to hear anything of the kind, remembering how at first she thought this was just a one nightstand. So, she kept quiet, tightening her grip on him.
