I hesitated to ask him because I wasn't sure how to ask him. I thought, um why are your eyes so empty and not full of hope like they used to be? I was thinking of the right words to put it in.
"Um...yeah..."He said.
"You seem different. I...I can't really explain it, but are you ok?" I asked.
He seemed to stay quiet for a while and I thought I had annoyed him or something when he spoke again.
"I'm fine just have lived a rough life. Don't worry about me." He said rubbing my arm.
"Ok but it's not like you. You seem changed and I know we all change as we get older, but i'm allowed to worry about you if I want okay?" I said raising my voice a little.
"Okay okay your allowed, Annie." He laughed.
"I'm going back inside it's way too cold out here okay?" I asked.
"Yeah that's fine go ahead i'll go in a bit." He said. He squeezed my arm one last time before I got up.
I walked back to the cabin thinking how handsome he was. He was always good looking, but I was always too busy chasing after Josh to realize. Mike's blonde hair got a bit darker and he wore it carelessly I loved the way it fell over his eyes sometimes and when he wore his glasses to read he made me melt. His eyes were so beautiful I could die staring into them and his lips, I could imagine kissing them right now. I took a breather and went in. I smiled at the gang in the living room all awake by now. I could smell breakfast being cooked probably by Mady and Nikki. I decided to go in and help them.

I walked into the kitchen to see the three women in my life I loved the most. Annabel was slicing avacados probably for the girls' famous omelettes. How amazing how anytime I saw her she made me tingle. A simple task like slicing avacados made me want to go up to her and kiss her endlessly. I noticed she had put her hair up in a pony tail and I could see her neck perfectly. It looked so appetizing, I made myself smile. Nikki saw the way I was looking at Annabel and giggled at me. Annabel turned around to see why Nikki was giggling and she looked at me and smiled. Ouch! It hurt everywhere when she smiled at me like that.
"Hey my beutiful girls." I said, giving my mom and Nikki a kiss on the cheek. I went up to Annabel and gave her a kiss on the lips, just a quick brush of the lips. That was enough. My head was spinning and I swear I saw birds and stars like in the cartoons. She blushed and I took a slice of avacado from her.
"Don't be so cocky." She laughed and pushed me away with her hips.
"If you came in here just to flirt with Annabel and eat the food before it's done get out young man." My mom said with a smile. She never had a temper I loved my mom for that.
"Actually I came into tell Nikki that her fiance is very good at poker and took all my virtachips." I said.
"Well good. That will teach you a lesson." Nikki said. I winked at her and went outside for a smoke.
I was really trying to quit. I was doing good this was my first one since last week. I saw Mike coming around the corner looking all out of it like always. I swear his ex took his soul from him.
"Hey Mike the ladys are making omelettes." I said starting a conversation.
"Good I'm starving."He said.
"Yeah me too." I said.
"You know, those things will kill you eventually." He said, pointed at the cigarette. I punched him jokingly and went inside.

Josh and Mike walked in as we were finishing up making breakfast. I looked at them and smiled they made me laugh. They were like light and dark, Josh with his black hair and blue eyes and Mike with his blond hair and blue eyes.
"Do you girls need some help?" Mike said taking some plates from me and smiled.
"Yes, help us take the food to the dinning room." Mady said. We sat down for breakfast like we normally did, Josh to the right of me and Nikki to the left of me. We all ate and made jokes. They asked me about school and my past life. I told them it was the same, miserable. I told them I wish I could just stay with them and not go back, but I said that all the time and it couldn't happen. As I said that I looked at Mike's expression and saw him quickly look down. Weird...He seemed to do that anytime I made eye contact with him.
After everyone was done eating and the table was cleared everyone got up to watch tv or go outside. I decided to go to my room and listen to music. Music was the same in the future just sounded like if the band was in the room with you. I sat on the windowsill and staired out the window. I noticed the guys throwing the football around and Josh waived at me. I waived back and went to lay on my bed. I fell asleep listening to Digital Witness a cool "Future" band.
I woke up and panicked. It felt like I was sleeping for hours, but it was only about 45 minutes I stopped the music and went downstairs to get some water. Mike was in the kitchen holding an ice pack to the back of his head.
"Oh no what happened?" I asked rushing to hold the ice pack for him.
"I was tackled by Josh..I wasn't paying attention. I'm fine, you don't have to hold the pack." He said.
"Don't be silly you have to keep it on. Let's go sit on the couch." I insisted trying to look stern.
"Alright don't give me that look." He said. He sat on the couch and I sat right next to him holding the ice pack again. I got closer to examen his head and he flinched.
"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry did I hurt you?" I asked worried.
"No...I'm fine it wasn't my head." He said looking at me and I smiled. I scooted to the other side of the couch. He looked at me puzzled.
"Lay down. Put your head on my lap. If you say no I'll give you the 'look'." I said. He rested his head on my lap and layed down looking towards the tv across from us. I kept the ice pack on his head and with my other hand I started playing with his beautiful blond hair so he could relax.
