Oblivion

As I walked through the school doors I started to feel an anxiety attack bubbling up inside me. I made a straight line to the bathroom and I ended up puking my guts for what felt like hours. In no time the bell rang and I made my way to class.

I managed to get through the first few lessons, but as recess rolled by I couldn't help but think about Martin. I was not in the mood of confronting him today, or ever. I figured that the only remedy was to get distracted and so I made my way to where me and my friends usually sit.

As I went round the corner, the site was sickening. Around the table where all my friends, with the addition of all of Martin's friends. I  couldn't help but notice Martin's wondering eyes, as if they were searching for someone. I decided to go sit next to them. I was not really a social person so the idea of ending up alone or having to make new friends scared me shitless.

M: Naomi!

It seemed as no one heard Martin so I just sat down and I started reading one of my books.

Suddenly I felt something kick me under the table. I did not want to look up so I kept reading. As I started to focus back on my reading, the bookmark I had dropped on the floor, I tried to grab it whilst still sitting down, but it was to far for me to reach, so I had to go under the table. I started looking for the bookmark, when my head hit something hard.

N: Jesus Christ, what the...

M: Why are you ignoring me?

N: Why me, ignoring you, why would I? *SV*

M: I'm serious!

N: Same here.

M: I have no idea why you are acting like this but,

E: Babe, what are you doing down there?

M: Nothing, just dropped my contacts

N: Such a terrible liar...

M: Okay, we have to meet after school and you need to explain yourself.

N: No, no I don't.

M: Please!

N: No!

M: Well thankfully we have a meeting at Spinning Records after school, so yes you have to meet me.

I had forgotten all about the meeting and I mentally slapped myself for how stupid I was.

M: Wait for me near that little park outside school.

I nudged Martin so he could go back up, so we wouldn't look suspicious. I grabbed my bookmark and made my way up. Thankfully everyone was to hormonal to notice how long me and Martin were gone.

E: Did you find your contact?

M: What contact?

I quickly kicked Martin under the table

M: Oh yeah that, yeah, yeah, got it.

A half smile couldn't help but escape my lips at how oblivion Ellie was to the fact that Martin had a perfect eyesight.

*SV = Sarcastic Voice*
