21 | Morning with Joey

Waking up to beautiful morning light is one thing, but waking up beside a beautiful person, now that's something else.

As I open my eyes, I first see a neck. I then look up to see that Joey's head is resting on mine. He sleeps so peacefully; I then feel our legs intertwined and find my arm clutching to his which is draped around me.

He smells ridiculously good. I smile to myself as I remember our conversation last night; my safe haven, 'i will stay', 'just don't push me away'. Gosh, that was by far the sweetest conversation we've ever had; I also think the most genuine.

I stare at his beautiful face and then decide to get off the bed slowly. Trying not to wake him up, I untangle our legs, and carefully remove my hands from his body.

He moves a bit, so I took a pillow and place it beside him first. He hugs it and falls asleep again. It's 10 minutes to 9 in the morning, then I check my phone.

A lot of Twitter notifications pop up, then I notice Matthias left me messages. I first read them. Three of them we're dated last night and one was this morning; they said:

9:37 pm - "Hey, Sab. Tomorrow, 11 am, let's shoot for our vids together. :) Bring a lot of spare clothes. Oh, and Amanda said she's excited to see you. So am I Haha."

10:46 pm- "Ehem, do you happen to know where Joey is? Is he with youuuuu??! Mom's been bugging me for the last 2 hours. He isn't picking up his phone. PS. I'm totally not worried."

11:34 pm - "Even Cali's missing??? Okay, he's got to be with you then. HAHAHA. Enjoy love birds!!! Be safe :P"

8:13 am - Seriously Sab, you could like at least tell me he's there. Kind of worried, no joke. We're you two really that busy last night? Oh, wow, this would be embarrassing if I was wrong and he isn't there. HAHA Oh well, good morning! See you later.

I laugh at his text messages, so this is how it feels like to have Matthias as an older brother. I immediately call him to calm him.

He picks up after a few rings and says, "He's got to be with you, right?" I laugh and say, "Yes, and good morning to you too, Matthias."

He sighs in relief and says, "Thank God, cause I was kinda worried for a second there!" He laughs as I do so with him and continues, "Wait, did he sleep there??"

I laugh and shyly respond, "Yeah, he's still asleep tho." I look at Joey as he sleeps cuddling my pillow. Matthias laughs and says, "He must really like you, girl!"

I blush and feel my heart beat faster and ask, "What?" Matthias instantly says, "Forget I said that. He'd be furious!" He laughs on the other line and says, "Just make sure you bring each other here by 11, got it?"

I agree and end the call. I then hear this buzzing sound, kind of like a vibrating phone. I search for the sound and find it from Joey's phone, vibrating on my carpet. He must've dropped it when we're chasing each other.

I pick it up and see what flashes on the screen, it's a picture of him and his mom, I'm guessing because the caller ID says so. I debate on picking it up but then I just went for it.

A woman's voice was asking on the other line, "Joseph Fredrick! Where the hell are you?! Me and your dad have been trying to contact you since last night?!" Before I have the chance to speak, she continues, "Tell me you've got Cali cause she's gone missing too!"

I then clear my throat and say, "Hi, good morning! I'm Sab, a friend of Joey's and Matthias's." She then calms herself and asks, "Oh, I'm sorry, hello! Is Joey with you? I believe I'm calling his phone."
