19 | Heal each other

Sebastian, my older brother isn't home tonight for he's staying at his girlfriend's place. So, that makes me worry less about this unplanned dinner. At least no one would interrogate Joey and scare him away.

As we head the front door, I call out and say, "Mom, prepare another plate. We've got company!" Mom immediately steps to take a look.

She smiles instantly at the sight of a Joey grinning back at her. Joey mouths, "Hi!" I giggle at Cali as she also barks as of to say hi as well.

Mom gleefully replies, "Why hello there, J-Fred. I see you're back." She then eyes me teasingly, I widen my eyes as if to tell her to stop. She just laughs and tell us both to come it and take a seat.

I then worry about Cali, "She doesn't have food!" Joey laughs and says, "Don't worry about her. I've got a supply of dog food at the trunk of my car for occasions like this."

He them stands up and says, "Excuse me, I'll just get my baby's food." Mom laughs and then I watch Joey as he heads out. He calls out, "Don't worry, princess. I won't be too long." He then turns to wink at me.

I pretend I'm puking as he laughs and leaves out the door. Mom then turns to me and teases, "Joey, is there something you'd like to tell me about?" I shake my head giggling as she continues, "I sense something. Hmmm."

I defend myself, "Mom, please. Just don't tease me in front of him!" She then laughs and says, "Then tell me what's going on between the two of you!"

Teasingly, I push her away as she laughs. I say, "There's nothing yet mom." She catches the 'yet' part and kept teasing me with it. I laugh at her and then say, "Just don't embarrass me in front of him, okay?"

Mom laughs and heads to the counter to get the food and mouths, "Ofcourse, I wouldn't embarrass my own daughter to a guy she's crushing on!" I immediately groan, "MOOOOOMMM!"

She laughs at me again. Then someone calls out, "Would you quiet it down, princess? I can hear you from outside!" I turn to Joey and glare at him. He messes my hair them laughs.

I then talk to Cali, "Your daddy's mean, isn't he?" Cali then comes near me again and I rub her head. Joey then whispers so nearly in my ear I can feel his breath, "You could call me 'daddy' too if you want."

I nudge my elbow at his chest while I state lowly, "You dirty lad!!!" He laughs in pain as he rubs the part I just elbowed.

Mom enters the dining area and sees Joey whining about his chest. She then sets the food down and demands, "Sab, what did you do to JFred???"

She then goes closer to him and asks, "Are you okay, honey? Did she hit you?" She then mouths noiselessly, 'I thought you liked him.'

I give her a disapproving look. Joey says, "It's nothing. Your daughter just has this habit of physically abusing me." They both laugh as I roll my eyes at them.

I then state, "Well, you have a habit of annoying me!" I stick out my tongue which makes him laugh harder.

Mom then asks Joey, "Why'd she hit you anyway, JFred?" I smirk and then demand, "Yeah, JFred? Why did I hit you?" I raise my eyebrows at him.

Joey then starts blushing and seems to be choosing his words. I then tease more, "Go on, what did you tell me again? Say it in front of my mom, eh?" He then eyes me and I laugh.

He saves himself by saying, "Nothing, just annoying her as always. Can't blame her." He then takes the seat beside me and then whispers, "Shut up, you."

I laugh and then we start eating. First, I blessed the food together with Joey. I say the usual routing for my blessing but then Joey catches my attention again by following, "... and good Lord, we thank You for new beginnings."
