14 | Meeting My Fam

When I know we're nearing my house, I text my brother as a disclaimer to the two men who are about to meet him and my mom. I wouldn't want him to be so weird to Joey and Matthias.

As we hit the curb of our street, I feel my heart beating so fast. I'm nervous and sweating. Joey looks over at me and says, "Sab, could you relax? You're making me nervous."

In confusion I ask, "And why would you be nervous??" I stare at him as he speaks, "Well, for one, you told me he was overly protective. He might strangle me just because I brought you home. What if he finds out we slept together?!"

He panics and I laugh and smack him. He laughs as well as I say, "There are things he doesn't need to know and please, do not put it that way, Joey Fredrick." He smiles so big and says, "I'm just new to this whole family-meeting thing."

What is he even talking about? It's not like his my boyfriend yet anyway. Oh my. Did I just think 'YET'? I soooo have to think my feelings through.

He looks at me and says, "Not with my full name, princess, jeez. What's your second name anyway? Where'd Sab come from?" I try to hold back my laugh and said, "I think we better save that part for later.

I pat his shoulder and point where to park my car in the garage. Finally home. Matthias parks right at the back and gets off too. Joey hands me the keys and says, "Definitely going to drive this sick baby again soon."

I roll my eyes and say, "In your dreams, Joey." I then call out my mom and let both Matthias and Joey in. I see my brother waiting by the door. Here goes nothing.

He calls out, "Joey!!! Oh thank God, you're home!" I run to him and hug him. I did miss this dooface after all. I whispered in the hug, "I missed you, Enrique." He replies with, "I'm just glad you're safe. Now get off of me."

He pushes me off and we both laugh along. Never really called him his second name, Enrique, anyway. I stare back at Joey and Matthias who are confused. I smirk.

Matthias asks, "Wait, what? How'd you know his name?" Joey chokes, "How much did you tell him about me?" He covers his nerves up by saying, "Aww, princess. You talked about me already?" He returns to his cocky self again but they both still seemed confused.

I look over at my brother as he says seriously, "Why would I care a thing to know about your name?" I rub his back as if to ask him to calm down. Joey looks stunned as Sebastian continues, "I mean, no, I do not. Is your name Joey too?"

I smile at Joey as he looks at me completely shocked. I wink at him. Matthias concludes, "Wait, what? Sab, your name is also Joey??"

I nod but look at Joey as I say, "Yup, Joey's my first name. My second name's Sabrina. And yes, Joey, that is where Sab came from." Sebastian tells them, "She's our Joey Sabrina."

Sebastian demands lowly, "You have alot of explaining to do." I smack him and then listen to Matthias.

Matthias utters, "Joey Sabrina..." He pauses then claps, "Soooo cool." We all laugh a bit as Joey pulls me and says, "All this time, you never told me we had he same name!"

I laugh and said, "Well, there's 2 J-Dawgs in the house now." He smiles and says, "No wonder we just connect like that." I laugh as we head inside.

I see my mom coming out and I run to her. She takes me in for a hug and says, "Aww, Sabrina. I missed you, darling. How are you? How was the drive? Are you okay?" I say, "Never better mom."

She eyes Joey and Matthias and instantly says, "You must be Matthias." She shakes his hand and Matthias smiles back and acknowledges, "Mrs. Montenegro."
