Chapter 17

Doctor Janson took a seat, the two boys following and doing the same, Newt was still unconscious but Thomas had him leaning on his shoulder.

"So, your friend here is a hybrid? How are you all related and what seems to be the problem?" Doctor Janson asked, leaning back into his chair and examining the two boys with his eyes.

Thomas took a deep breath and started.
"His name is Newt and we aren't related but he is living with me since I found him behind my apartment. He has been going through heat for the past few days and this morning he just started vomiting blood and I'm worried" Thomas stopped to look at Minho who had a shocked look on his face. Doctor Janson just leaned forward and scribbled something down in his note book.

"What are your names?" Doctor Janson asked, Thomas almost laughed at how calm he sounded.
"My name is Thomas and that's Minho"
"Ok, Thomas, you said that Newt here has been going through heat, how bad has the heat gotten exactly?"
Thomas was a bit taken aback by the question. What did he mean by bad? And did he really have to explain what's been happening in front of Minho?

"Uhh, what do you mean by bad exactly?"
"What symptoms has he had and how extreme have they been?"
"Oh, well he-he has been really emotional and hasn't been eating. He's had really bad stomach cramps and there's been a lot of vomiting..." Thomas trailed off, hoping that he wasn't going to ask about the increase in sexual needs.

"Has there been any increase in sexual needs?"

Damn it.

Thomas took in a deep breath.
"Uhhh, yeah-yes he's had that too"
"And has he taken care of that himself it has there been other methods implicated?"
Thomas began to squirm uncomfortably in his seat. He looked over to see Minho staring at him with his eyebrows raised.
"Oh-um-well he took care of himself to begin with, but after a while it got to be too much..." Thomas cut himself short, hoping that that was enough information.
"Has Newt experienced any extreme stress in the past? Abuse? anything along those lines?" Dr Janson asked as he continued taking notes.

Thomas really didn't feel comfortable talking about Newts past without his permission, but this was for his health.

"He, uh-he has been abused in the past..."
"How so?"
"Physically, emotionally and sexually..."
"He has told you this?"
"Yes, and I witnessed a small part if it, that's how I found him"
"I see. Has he told you about anything to do with forced sexual activity?"
"Yeah-he has. He's been- he's been raped, a lot by his past owners. They abused him..." Thomas cut himself off as he felt Newt squirming on top of him.

Newt let out a loud whine, tilting his head back and opening his eyes. He looked frantically around the room as he tried to gather his surroundings.

"Shhhhhhh, Newt it's ok, you're at the hospital ok" Thomas tried to sooth him but his breathing became rapid.

Doctor Janson shut his note book and placed it on the table.
"I have enough information now to be able to try and treat your friend here to the best of my abilities. Unfortunately as you would know, hybrids are a lot harder to treat than normal humans as their body's function differently to ours. In order to stop Newts vomiting of blood, I'm going to need to insert a small device into his stomach that will send out a signal to his brain to stop the vomiting. This will stop the blood also but will require surgery immediately if you are willing to let Newt go through this and if Newt is willing to agree"

Thomas looked into Newts eyes. They were glassy and unfocused and Thomas knew at that moment that he needed to do whatever was  needed to get Newt fixed.
"Ok, do it" Thomas whispered and Doctor Janson took a step forward.
"I'm going to need you to follow me to the operating room since your friend here doesn't look strong enough to carry himself"
Thomas nodded and looked over to Minho who was starting in shock at the situation that had just unfolded.
"I'll explain everything later just wait here ok? " Thomas pleaded whilst walking to the operating room.
