<The Boundary>
"This is the Boundary," Dan says.
"Naw, I thought it was a wall here for no reason," Phig said.
"Your comebacks are getting worse. Are you okay?"
Phig looked over at Dan suspiciously. "How did you read me so well?"
Dan shrugged. "Just a gift that I use occasionally."
Phig watched as Dan put in the code for opening the boundary. He smiled mysteriously.
"Stop doing that."
"Doing what?"
"That smile. It's weird."
"Exactly. And let's think...if we got out, we can get back in."
Phig's mouth formed an o.
Dan smiled his mysterious way again. Phig decided he was just going to call it the Dan smile from now on. The door on the wall opened, and Dan stepped through. Phig followed after him.
The door closed.
"Here we are. On the corner of freedom and dictatorship." Dan gestures to the woods.
"What."
"I thought you'd understand that one. It's not even a song reference."
Phig looked to the sky. "So...what now?"
The Dan smile came back. "We live."
<The Phone>
Dan was surprisingly good at finding a good shelter and then finding supplies to fill that shelter with. "Just a skill you learn through centuries," he said.
Their home was very similar to Don's in the fact that it was in an outcropping of rock, and Dan had made a potion room inside of it. Phig was coming back with some firewood one day when he noticed a strange smell coming from the rock.
"Dan? What are you doing?"
Dan turned around holding a bottle. "Giving you a phone."
He turned back around for a second, then there was a puff of smoke.
"Here's your phone back."
Phig dropped the firewood and stared in awe at the thing that has brought him comfort just a week ago. "THANK YOU!!"
"Don't hug me."
"Oh. Well...I'll just go sit in the corner and listen to music then."
"Good idea."
Phig pressed shuffle and No Good in Goodbye by The Script started playing. It made him realize how much he missed Danny's more fun nature. Not that he'd ever tell Dan that or anything.
<The Hair>
"DAN. WHAT IS THIS."
Phig stared at the mirror Dan had somehow stolen.
Since there was a masking potion in effect, Dan hadn't changed at all in the few months they'd been there. He was still a bald (AN: very VERY funny if you've ever seen a picture of Dan Smith) and muscular Burly. Phig, on the other hand, had changed.
"That's hair, Phig."
"But it's BLONDE."
"That's because your hair's grown past the dye's limit."
Phig looked at his chin length hair again. It was pretty tangled and messy, and had faded to blonde at the bottom. It had gotten to the point where he had to start tying it back. He also had some blonde stubble on his chin.
