Mark's POV

I waited excitedly on the porch, pacing slightly as I watched the road. Our first year of college had just ended, and I hadn't seen Jack since Christmas break. It was miserable telling him goodbye, promising to call and text then Skype until we fell asleep every night. It definitely wasn't the same.

I just went to a local community college, mostly taking online courses and living with my parents. They argued with me at first as to what school I was going to, saying an honor student should be driving off to Harvard or Baylor, but I didn't want to go to an expensive school to get a degree in something I didn't care about.

Jack, however, had a much different story. Although he didn't get the best grades and struggled in school, he got a scholarship to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and became a music and theatre major. With his scholarship and coming from Ireland, he got a free ride to get his Associates Degree. And he was coming home for the summer today.

I saw the familiar white car pull into my driveway. Jack quickly climbed out of his car and ran around the front, running towards me and hugging me tightly.

"Oh Mark I missed you so, so much! I love you so much, I missed you, I love you, I love you and I missed you so much-" He babbled into my shoulder as I hugged him back.

"I love you too, Jackaboy." I ruffled his hair and held him close in my arms. "I missed you so, so, so much." I kissed the top of his head.

"Oh I'm so excited to be back home! I get to see my friends and family again, and I get to see you again, and Mark I love you so, so, so, so, so much!" He buried his face in the crook of my neck, holding on to me as if he never wanted to let me go ever again.

"I love you so, so, so, so, so much, too." I chuckled. "Are you still getting good grades?" I stood back and looked at him, adoring the giant smile he wore on his face.

"Yeah! It's the first time I've ever had straight A's in my life, I love everything there and there's so many people that are so passionate about what they do, and it's so cool to see that and learn about the things you love, and..." He paused. "But it's so miserable without you. I can't do this again." He looked up at me sadly.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked softly.

"I wanna come home, Mark. It's great and all... But I'm so alone. It's a great experience, but I'm homesick and I feel like I already know this stuff. I don't know if I wanna go anymore." He held my hands, brushing his thumbs over my knuckles.

"Jack, please don't give up your education for me." I looked at him sadly.

"I'm not doing it just for you! Well, a tiny bit, but there are other reasons." He stared at his feet. "Everything is being retaught to me. I know these things, everything about theatre and music. Of course I don't know everything but I'm not enjoying what I'm taught. I'm just going to school for that stupid degree. And what if I'm wasting my time? It's so hard to become an actor, if I'm not going to a proper college I'm gonna get stuck as a waiter or something. But if I go to an actual college, I'll get bad grades and be miserable because I'm not doing what I wanna do." He played with my fingers and avoided my gaze as he spoke. "I'm not endorsing that people should quit college for the heck of it, but... I'm not happy. And I wanna be happy. And I'm happy here... With you." He finally looked up at me with wide puppy eyes and a fragile look on his face.

"Jack, you can become an actor, but you should go to school-" I started, but he interrupted me.

"I can be successful without relearning shit I already know and taking stupid tests." Jack rolled his eyes. "I wanna be big, Mark, I wanna be an actor and a singer, and I know I can. But I don't want to be just famous. I want to make an imprint, an impact. And I'm going to do what I love at the same time." He looked at me seriously. I sighed, giving in.

"Okay, if you want to do that, I'll fully support you. I love you, Jack." I hugged him. "You're so talented and amazing, and if you're not famous one day then I'm in the wrong alternate universe." I laughed softly and planted a gentle kiss to his lips. Suddenly he wrapped his hand around the back of my neck and pulled me back in, kissing me passionately and deeply.

"God, I forgot how good that felt." Jack muttered against my lips after a few seconds of kissing. "I love you, Mark." He wrapped his soft hands around the back of my neck and looked into my eyes happily.

"I love you too, Jack." I looked into his bright and shining blue eyes, falling in love with him more and more with every second that passed.

"Mark! Guess what!" Jack squealed as he ran into my room.

"What?" I turned away from my computer, pulling off my headphones.

"I applied to audition for something..." He threw his arms over my shoulders and sat in my lap. "And I'm going to audition next month..." He smirked.

"What are you auditioning for?" I asked as I put my hands on his waist.

"A movie!" Jack quickly kissed my lips.

"A what?" My jaw dropped.

"A movie! I applied, sent in a video, told them my experience, and they loved it! Even though I haven't been in any other kind of films, they really wanted me in their audition!" He bounced excitedly.

"Who's this movie for?" I raised an eyebrow.

"DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers." He grinned broadly. I hugged him tightly. "They said I got super lucky! Nobody ever gets something this big their first time on screen!" He squealed.

"Jack I'm so, so, so proud of you! This is amazing, I can't believe this is really happening!" I laughed softly, hugging him even tighter.

"I'm gonna be big, Mark! I'm gonna be an actor! For real!" He squealed.

"I love you so much. You're going to do amazing things." I muttered in his shoulder.

"I love you, too, Mark. I love you so much." He sighed happily, melting into my arms.

"So Jack," I finally broke the long, comfortable silence. He sat back, looking down at me. "I found this really cool website where you can make and share videos, there's a ton of people on it and if you have enough people subscribed to you, you can get payed." I turned the chair and pulled the internet browser back up.

"What's it called?" He turned around and leaned back onto my shoulder.

"YouTube."
