(*** I have not read this story before it was suggested, but I'm glad I have. I've become a fan in just 10 minutes XD ***)

Genre: Fanfiction

Fandom: Batman Universe

Rating: PG-13

Chapters Read: 5

Summary:

We live in a world where men fall from the sky and have heat vision, where women have magical swords and can fly, where there's space cops watching over us, and where men have the power to talk to fish. The entire world population is ready to believe in anything at this point. They're even ready to believe that a certain clown has one last gag to pull off, and the Bat Family is preparing for the worst. But one incompetent teen, Francine Rivera, gets caught in the middle when she is assigned a partnership with the son of one of the biggest celebrities in this Godforsaken city.

Let's just hope the city really does shine brightest at night.

Grammar:

Grammar wasn't a problem in the slightest. The story was descriptive, and there were minimal errors in structure and spelling. The only thing I suggest changing is starting new paragraphs when the dialogue starts.I noticed that the author does this, but it isn't always consistent.

Ex: The day was bright. Jimmy and his mother, Teressa, were harvesting ripe apples just outside the farm house.

"Jimmy, would you mind picking the apple from that branch?" Jimmy's mother motioned towards the thick branch above him.

Plot:

The summary was what really caught my eye. I also suggest putting the excerpt part in quotations, since it was derived from the story. It tells the reader that what they're reading in the summary is what they're gonna get in the story, and that's good because the excerpt was stellar.

The plot is essentially about Francine, a parentless teenager trying to make ends meet by running her own shop in the ghetto of Gotham. She meets Damian Wayne under school-related circumstances and soon becomes involved in his family and superhero-lifestyle once he unwittingly reveals his alter-ego to her.

The plot was fairly original, considering what the author added of their own. I  ̶l̶i̶k̶e̶  love the story-line. I might be a little biased, since the Joker does play the antagonistic role, but it's quite imaginative considering how lax Batman Universe/Family fanfiction writers have become with being inventive with their plots.

Writing in the fanfic genre is substantially easier than writing in any other genre (unless you're very original) because you have the characters and the foundation for the plot developed for you.

But, you have to incorporate some of your ideas into the story-line to make it your own. No one wants to see a whole section of Harry Potter fanfiction copies on the front page of Wattpad, right?

That's what I really enjoy about this story. It's original, and it's not ripped off from other fanfics.

Fabulous job.

Characters:

It isn't often that I can say I admire and enjoy a character in a book. Francine is a teenager who lives in the Narrows. Her lifestyle isn't pleasant, but neither is her personality. She's gritty, foul-mouthed, and realistic. Living alone trying to fend for herself without parents in a gang-infested neighborhood has made her a roughneck.

Damian Wayne, the male counter-part of the cliche clean cut, well-off girl, is the living antithesis of everything Francine is. But, that doesn't mean he doesn't have personal issues of his own.

The author did fantastic in creating an original character that could be incorporated into the plot so realistically.

I also want to put Bruce Wayne in the spotlight for a little bit. He's not exactly the charming, cocky player the movies or many renditions of the comics paint him as. I feel, that in this story, he's interpreted as he should be. He's the vigilante a crime-infested city depends on. He spends countless hours simply getting the job done, and even more recovering from what he puts his body through.

Add the responsibility of a son-in-training and his classmate who's seen too much, you wouldn't be surprised to see that this Caped Crusader is an exhausted man who struggles to juggle his personal life on one hand, and the never-ending dangers of taking out crime on the other.

Bravo. I truly enjoyed this aspect of the story.

Note to Izzy_BadApple:

I read your story and I say "Wattpad would be soooo much better if all the Batfamily fanfics were like this," though that kinda conflicts with my earlier Harry Potter example.

There's NOTHING you need to change (PLEASE DONT CHANGE ANYTHING UNLESS YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN YOU CAN MAKE IT 100X BETTER CAUSE I LOVE YOUR STORY ERMAHGERD) unless you want to edit the dialogue structure.

Update more, please!
