chapter 11

Phils pov

I had no idea what had just happened. One minute i was holding lucys precious hand and the next i was on the floor unconscience. Then i was trapped to a chair. I tried to move but i couldn't. I looked up for the first time and in front of me was lucy. Her lifeless body sat in the chair opposite me. Her hands were also tied to her chairs arms. Between us was a wooden table. One of my hands was not tied but was not much use either.
'Lucy. Lucy!' I called, trying to wake her back up. Her head hung on her shoulder and one eye was a dark purpley black. Her cheek had blood running down it and the whole of one side of her was covered in Marcus's blood. Her perfect pale neck, also covered in blood. Her hair didnt have a bounce anymore and lay flatly against her shoulders. Her hat had slipped a little but still managed to stay on. I struggled to get out of the seat amd called for help. None came. I saw lucy slowly lift her eyelids open and blink sleepily at me.
'Phil..phil..wh...whats happening. Wh..what..i..im scared..phil!' She cried. Trying to get up.
'Its fine, we're fine, everything is going to be fine.' I tries to reassure her. She shook her head and whimpered a little, tears rolling down her cheeks.
'Hello again my special little Subjects. Phil has already made one fatal desicion today and now he has to make another. You can take that gun in front of you and you can shoot yourself or lucy. The one who survives can live, the other..well..they will be dead.' Demotic laughter followed. I suddenly noticed the black gun infront of us, placed on the table. Above us was two baldes spinning and edging closer towards us.
'Phil. You can't die. Everything has been for nothing and you cant die.' She looked up at me.
'Every second i have been with you has been the best. I love you and i could never forgive myself if you were to die.' I tilted my head slightly and angled the gun.
'No, no, phil! If there was one thing i wanted to do , it would be to save your life by sacrificing mine. I would rather you would shoot me and live than die and leave me here alone. I couldn't live without you. You have already made a choice today and you have already saved me once, now please, let me choose this time. Let me be the one to die to save you.' She cried, still whimpering.
'I cant do that. I could never do that. This is why i have to be the one who dies. Im really sorry and i love you.' I cried. I palced the gun perfectly in place, ready to shoot. Lucy was screaming and crying in front of me. I was about to pull the trigger when i put the weapon back on the table. I couldn't kill her or myself. This was stupid and ridiculous. The gun lay infront of us. Neither of us knew what to do. We just looked at it and then looked at each other.
'Itll be alright!' I gave a slight smile and nodded. Her eyes twinkled. I turned and looked behind myself as a door banged open and in came dan and maddy. They rushed up to us. Maddy and lucy quickly embraced. The physco suddenly walked in. With the gun i shot him a couple of times. Nothing happened. I looked angrily at him.
'Oh phil oh phil. You've heard of flanks before. ' the physco boomed before raising his hands and revealing himself. It was...Marcus...! We all gasped in surprise.
'Your faces guys! I faked my own death, i didnt miss a detail. Every little thing was exact, precise and accurate. I controlled the ghost, the blades the dolls. Did you enjoy that? All of those humiliations my sisters got to feel a year ago except guess what, they didnt get to laugh it off. No, nope, they're gone. We're going viral ladies and gents. We got we got kissing, love , we got blood, gore. That's right we're going onto the internet. I dont think the whole of china have enough hard drive to fit all of this on!' He smiled creepily.
'I don't know if you've noticed but none of us are laughing, marcus. Oh and zoe is dead. Zoe is flipping dead and you are gonna pay!' Dan screamed and knocked marcus unconscience. Maddy helped lucy out of the chair and grabbed her into a big hug. I heard her whisper 'itll be ok. We'll be ok. I really missed you though.' 'Yeah i missed you too!'
Dan helped me out as well and quickly hugged me and patted me on the back. 'I really missed you too phil. We will be ok though, right. After this we can go back home and maybe move in with those two. Ive seen how close you have been with lucy at the minute.' 'Yeah, well shes a nice girl. Ive really missed you too. Not long now, hopefully!' I whispered back.
The girls stayed at the lodge whilst i got a few minutes with dan... And Marcus. We took him and tied him to a stool in the shed. He denied ever hurting zoe but admitted to hitting lucy. We all sweared a little which was unlike me in every way. We left him in there and wondered back to the house. When we got there, erin suddenly rushed in seconds after we stepped through the door. She cried, telling us to shut the door. She collapsed into maddy and lucys arms. They took her to the sofa. She explained how a monster attacked her and she was in the mines. She explained what she saw down there and how she had no idea where mark was. She told us that she thought that hannah hadnt died straight away and had buried beth but then she had been dug back up. We all turned around when a banging started hammering at the door. Dan and i went to see what it was. I opened the door and the man strode in. He had a flame thrower and walked over to where the girls were. We followed, confused.
He started to talk:
' i dont care if you believe me or not. There are reasons why i want to get it off my chest. There is a curse upon these mountains. If anyone is to result to cannobolisim then the spirit of the wendigo shall be unleashed. They will turn into a monstrous creature. One who kills and hunts at night. You need to find a safe place to stay in. I suggest you go as soon as possible.'
'The basement might be ok?' Maddy suggested.
'Go down there and stay there.' He said.
'What about marcus? We left him in the shed not seconds ago. We have to go get him!' I cried.
'Your friend will already be dead. But we can go check if your desperate. '
'He can't be dead! We were with him not seconds ago!' I cried.
'A lot can happen quickly on these mountains.' He nodded. The next ten minutes went past in a blur. The others went down to the basement and lucy gave me a quick kiss before we went out into the snow. He handed me a riffle and we followed the path down to Marcus. He was gone. I got told to stay still as the guy got ripped in half, his head rolled along the ground. I screamed and ran. I shot the wendigo and ran towards the house. The was a barrel and i shot it. The tinted blue creature blew up in flames as i ran into the house and lucy opened the door, letting me in. I sighed in relief and gave her a hug. We went down and met the others in the basement. They asked where the guy went. I replied. They started to look through his stuff. Lucy noticed a cut on erins arm. She said it was just a cut. That the wendigo bit her. Lucy screamed and said that she was gonna turn on us and then kill us. Dan grabbed a gun and aimed at erin.
'This is the safe room, erin!' He cried and apologised. He whimped out and put the gun down.
'We need to get out of here...Marcus hes got to have the key. Im going to its bedroom and im gonna get us out of here. ' and he wondered off. We looked around the room and in the guys bag. There were books on the monsters. We flicked through them and maddy gasped. She started to lead in the direction that dan hsd just gone. We all followed, knowing this was a bad idea. We went down a drain and lucy shut it behind her. I waited for her at the bottom whilst the other two carried on. I smiled at her. We carried on going. We heard a scream. It sounded like jess. We both looked confused but decided to ignore it and find the others. We eventually found them at a rock wall. Maddy climbed up it, determined to find dan. We headed back to the lodge, to wait until dawn.

Joes pov

Marcus! It was him all along! How could he!? Splitting up was a really bad idea guys! You numptys. Im sad the flame thrower guy died though. He seemed friendly. At least now we know not to move if your near a wendigo-they can't see you! I really want this to be over! What can happen with 3 hours until dawn!?
