It was a normal day in the cafeteria, high schooler's voices echoing off the walls, the occasional french fry being thrown across the room and Jackson pestering BamBam to pay more attention to him. The black haired boy was to busy staring at his high school 'love' to even hear what the Chinese boy next to him had even said."Come on! Pay attention to me!!" he whined like a needy girlfriend. "Stop drooling over that fuckboy and love me instead!"
"What do you mean fuckboy?!
"Really?" Jackson gave him a blank stare as if he was the dumbest person on the planet. "He tries to get with every girl in the school. He even tried to get with a few guys!"
"That's not true and you know it. Mark Tuan is perfect," the hearts in his eyes could practically be seen from space at this point.
Jackson sighed in response. "'Love' really does make people blind.."
BamBam started eating his lunch again, listening to Jackson go on and on about BTS's new tour and how he wouldn't be able to go. This was a never ending cycle, BTS would have a comeback, announce a tour, Jackson wouldn't be able to go and then he would go home and scream and cry into his pillow. It has honestly became a routine to BamBam when this would occur.
His head immediately shot up once he heard his crush's adorable laugh. He smiled and Jackson felt a pang of jealousy in his chest. He really wished BamBam would pick someone better for him. He knows BamBam will get hurt once he sees how the infamous Mark Tuan really was.
"Why do you even like him?" Jackson scowled.
"Are you really going to even ask me that? I mean, like, really, have you even seen him? He's gorgeous, his smile is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and his laugh is so cute!" He was swooning on the spot.
"You make me cringe, seriously."
"Don't ask a question you don't want the answer to.."
"Whatever."
Jackson went back to grumpily munching on some chips. He was sick of his best friend always going on and on about how 'in love' he is with someone who has absolutely no idea who he is. He's also extremely jealous since he has a small crush on his best friend. His temper finally got to him and he asked the question that's been bugging him for awhile.
"How can you like someone you don't even know?"
"What do you mean I don't know him?"
Jackson raised an eyebrow in question. "He doesn't even know you exist."
"That's not true!"
"I'm in his English class and he doesn't even know I exist!! For crying out loud Bam, wake up!"
Now he's done it. BamBam was upset and starting to question himself. It was true he never even once had talked to Mark, but they managed to make eye contact in the halls a few times. To most people that means nothing but to the skinny sophomore it meant everything. It was dumb to get excited over some awkward eye contact in the hallway but it made him feel like he was noticed and special. That was his mistake. Over thinking and reading into things, making them more significant than they actually are.
"You're wrong. I'll prove it to you."
"Oh really? How?"
"I'm gonna confess to him."
With that overly sassy and dramatic response, he stood up and slammed both hands down on the table, drawing more attention to himself than intended. Jackson felt guilt rising up inside of him. Because of him, BamBam was going to embarrass himself by getting rejected and have his heart broken. He did absolutely nothing to stop his precious friend though.
