Sunday was used to catch up on homework that was pushed to the side for last minute. Teenagers gathered their school supplies and packed their bookbags for tomorrow. Even going to be early to get ready for Monday, everyone's favorite day. Before everyone knew it, the morning was upon them and alarms were going off within their rooms.Normally BamBam would be sleepily walking around his room but because it was the first day of December, he hopped right out of bed with a grin on his face; ready to take on the day. He did his morning routine and walked to school, strolling into homeroom with a bright smile.
"It's December first guys, Merry Christmas!" he shouted, getting a few laughs but mostly groans from his half-asleep classmates.
BamBam sat down at his seat and got ready for the morning announcements, not letting anyone ruin his jovial mood. Christmas was his favorite time of the year. When the holiday came around the entire city just seemed to shut down and everyone was so happy. And when the delicate frozen crystals of snow fell down and covered the ground, it just made the atmosphere even lighter. BamBam just really loved Christmas.
The usual beep before the morning announcements started pulled the joyous boy out of his holiday daydreams. There was the normal talk about clubs, sports teams that won, (of course the boys volleyball team won yet another game) what was for lunch and talk about the upcoming Christmas prom.
"Remember students," the voice of a highschool girl sounded through the loudspeaker. "Don't forget to ask that special someone to Christmas prom. Also, seniors and juniors, don't forget that you can ask the underclassmen."
Prom always had BamBam in a particularly happy yet lonely mood. He loved how romantic prom could be for someone trying to confess and get that first dance with their crush, maybe even a kiss if they were lucky. Then again, BamBam hated how he was never one of those people. But he wasn't one to complain considering he was the only freshman that attended Christmas prom last year (freshmen and sophomores could only attend if they were asked by an upperclassman). Jackson had asked him and he gleefully accepted. The two friends spent their night laughing and even shared a slow dance. BamBam wished he could go again.
Then he realized, he could ask Mark to take him. Sure not many underclassmen asked their seniors and Mark would probably say no, but it was worth a shot.
Two floors above is where the seniors resided in their classrooms, listening to the announcements. Talk was already circling about who would take who. Mark couldn't care less. He was never one for prom. The only time he went was when his friends dragged him along. He thought the entire idea of prom was too much of a hassle. Having to pick out the perfect tux, the perfect corsage and the perfect this and perfect that. It was all just too much. Too much money and too much time for one night.
"Youngjae is gonna be so excited when I ask him," Jaebum stated, talking to no one in particular. "Who are you gonna ask Mark?" He turned to face his friend.
"You should already know that I'm not going to ask anyone. It's too much of a hassle," Mark explained.
"Yeah, but it's a good type of hassle. You get to spend a night with someone special. Now you know I'm not the one for all the romanc-y stuff, but if it makes Youngjae happy I do it."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. He's your baby." Mark rolled his eyes.
"You should ask that Fruity Pebbles kid. What was his name?" Jaebum asked, tapping an index finger against his chin.
"BamBam. His name is BamBam," Mark answered, quiet irritated. Jaebum literally just saw him two days ago. How could he not remember his name?
