Kenny the bartender lead Jason, Rachel and I through the streets of the crappy little town. It almost seemed weird to see people again since we've been on the run basically. I noticed that a tall someone stayed pretty close to the three of us. I hoped it wasn't one of Maldor's spies. I decided to keep an eye out for anyone hanging around the inn tonight. I knew I definitely won't be able to sleep tonight knowing that someone was watching us.

Finally, Kenny stopped at this cute-ish little inn. We followed Kenny though the door. Kenny knocked on the wall loudly. "Hey, Gertie. I've got you some customers."

A tall young woman with long light brown hair came out of the back room. I guessed this is Gertie, the innkeeper. She looked between the three of us. I looked around the inn observantly, knowing nobody would be questioning me about anything. Rachel smiled politely at Gertie, trying to look all innocent.

Jason, on the other hand, stepped forward and asked. "We need three rooms all on the same floor. Possibly, right next to each other?"

Gertie looked back and forth at Jason and Rachel. Confusion written all over her face. She was wondering why don't Jason and Rachel just share a room together. Jason realized what Gertie's confusion is about and said quickly. "She's my sister."

"Oh, then it'll be eighteen altogether. It's six per room." Gertie explained. She smiled at Jason as he handed her the correct amount of money. Gertie put the money safely away before she lead the three of us down the hallway to the right. She lead us up the stairs and down to the very end of the corridor. Gertie unlocked the third door from the end and said. "Miss, this is one is your room."

Rachel nodded. "Thank you." she replied, stepping into the room and looking around. Next, Gertie turned to Jason and pushed his door open. She smiled widely when Jason thanked her. He stepped into his room and I caught a glimpse of him flopping into this hammock bed thingie. He kicked the door closed when he noticed Gertie watching him.

Gertie then turned to me and said. "This is your room, sir." I nodded in thanks but didn't say anything. I was still afraid that Gertie might get suspicious of me. I entered the small bedroom which wasn't much smaller that my own bedroom back at home. The room was painted this ugly tan colour that was beginning to fade and peel off the walls. I immediately went to look out the window. It had already gotten dark since our talk with Gertie and our meal at the spinning restaurant.

The bed wasn't even a bed. It was a hammock that was hung from either side of the walls. I kept my pack with me as I opened the window and climbed out onto the roof. It was a clear night with no clouds. The stars and a sharp crescent moon shone brightly in the sky. The air had gotten chillier that it was in previous nights. I gazed up at the sky, wishing that I could remember something else. It is so frustrating when you can't remember ANYTHING at all other that your name. All trying to remember seems to do is give me a bloody headache.

All that I seemed to remember is vague things like I love to read books, sketch and that I'm a good runner. I slipped a pocketknife out of one of my boots. I practiced flipping it around in my hand, unconsciously. My hands expertly flipped the knife around like I've done this millions of time before.

My head snapped to the left as a figure silently climbed onto the roof too. I winced as I nicked my fingers on the knife at the sudden appearance of the figure. I checked to make sure my hood is still covering my face. He turned back to the window and helped someone else onto the roof. I realized that the figure was actually Jason. The figure disappeared back into the room. A few minutes later the figure climbed out of the third room to the left, which I recognized as Rachel's room. The figure helped a smaller figure out of the window and closed it back up. Jason and Rachel carefully walked over to me, keeping close to the wall. It's like they've never been on a roof before.
