The Strangest Flower

"Well Hazel, it's been awhile hasn't it?"

.....wait what?

Norah stretched her arms and yawned.
"Man it's been a long time! Being stuck in doll form gives a big back pain so I wouldn't suggest doing it for a long time. Hazel I thought you would have came sooner."

I just stared at her. So did Stefan. We were shocked that a floating mermaid was like floating and in my room. She waited for a an answer but then nothing came out of Stefan and I.

Norah crossed her arms. " Oh come Hazel! Don't you remember me? There's no reason to be shy! By the way who's this hot stuff? Are you dating ........

I cut her off. "Um no uh ah yes I remember you. You're my mermaid doll that I got from my mom. Norah right?"

She shook her head. " Well Hazel you've grown a lot since I last saw you and some new things added to you in supernatural reference that I can see. I can sense stuff like that blah blah. Anyway you're hair is long and pretty, a nice body, and those big jugs....

"Okaayyyyy I think that's enough of new things to point out about me.  It's good to see you. Well I never really met you. I've known you as a doll so yeah. Anyway I want to know how you got like this and why first. Then I'll take about this "cure". I said why standing uncomfortably.

" Right to the important part. Well when I was given to you by your mom, she had already seen into the future. She wanted me to protect you,  to tell you where to find the cure when the time came, and just when you needed me. You didn't need to know this whole mess when you were younger so I took a doll form when a friend of your mothers ,I think her name is Danielle, casted a spell on me to protect you when the time came. All you needed to do was touch me and I could go back to my regular form. That's how and why I am here. Now the cure part right?" She sighed.

"Yeah. My mom is quite the mystery huh? So now the cure. I need that cure to take away all the vampire and werewolf out of me. Then I can be human and go back to my regular life. I'd be no hybrid, not hunted down, just be focused on hunting the bad. So now the cure's location?"

"Ah yes the cure's location. That's a tuff one. I don't know where that is."

What? Did she just say that she didn't know where it is. I traveled here to find out about that. Why is she really even here then. This is a waste of my time.

"Why are you even here then. My mom even put you here to tell me the location of the cure!" I yelled.

She smiled." Yes she did do that. I said I don't know where it is but I'm here to tell you that you know where the cure is."

"...Wait what? I don't know where the cure is! I found you to find that out! Now stop fucking joking and tell me where the cure is!" I grabbed her arm and glared into her eyes.

She shook off my arm. " You you do know where the cure is. Now think back Hazel. Think back to the time before the attack and during it."

"No I can't. I can't. Its too much. I can't handle the whole thing again!" I said about to cry.

I can never think of the attack again. The horrible things I saw. I saw death and sorrow.

Norah put her hands on my shoulders. "Yes you can Hazel. I know you can. Remember the time in the garden with your mom right before the attack."

"No! I can't. It's not possible. I'm.. I'm.... I'm afraid. Yes I'm afraid. I'm scared as hell. I promised to never to remember those things. I locked them away!" I started balling crying.

Stefan had no idea what to do so he stepped out of the room. Norah put her arms around me and hugged me.
"Yes you can Hazel. I believe in you. Fight your fears!"

Fight my fears. I need to fight my fears. I need to go back to the hour before the attack. I can do this. I closed my eyes to remember the night. With that flashes of memories started to flood my mind.

"Hey my baby girl why don't you pass me the daisy seeds right next to you please?"

"Yes momma." I passed her the packages.

" These flowers are pretty aren't they?" She asked me.

"' Yeah but these are ugly aren't they?" I pointed to the ones blooming in a nearby tree.

She scored next to me and put her hands on my shoulders." "No of course not. Everything is beautiful in its own way. That flower has its strange petals but that makes it more unique. The best flowers are the strangest. You know your dad and I  met under a tree like that. I was eating lunch outside of school by myself. Some kid tripped over my bag and fell right on top of me placing my food on my face!"

"Was that kid dad?!" I giggled.

"You betcha! Once he had fell we were about to yell at each other but when I looked into his eyes I knew he was the one. We looked into each other's eyes but a Hazel flower fell down from the tree and landed on my nose. Your father smiled and said " A Hazel Flower huh? You know they aren't the best looking but they are quite interesting to look at! But you wanna know a secret? ..... The best flowers are the strangest. At that moment I knew that would be my first child's name."'

"Woah that's so cool. Does that mean I'm unique?" I smiled

"'Yep. You are a one of kind in every way!" She tickled me.

I started to squeal and my mother stopped to finish planting. I was about to head inside when something caught my eye. It was a Hazel flower in my mom's notebook.

"Why is that flower in your notebook. Won't it die mommy?!" I started to tear up.

She looked at her notebook and then at me. " No honey this flower won't die. It's immortal! You know this is the flower that landed on my nose when I met your father! Now I kept it because it gives special powers and it reminds me of you!"

"What are it's powers?!" I widened my eyes in curiosity.

"Oh you want to know? Well it's a secret. Here it is. It's powers is that it is a cure. It cures anything! It lives on forever to cure anything. It's pretty cool huh?"

"Yeah it is! Can it even cure my hate for broccoli?!" I giggled

"Of course it can. Now just remember to use this only when you need it. It's a one time use so use it only when you need it. I'm going to hang onto it right now but when you are ready I'll give it to you alright?" She said while scooping me up in her arms.

" Okay momma. I'll use it to save my shining prince in armor. He'll probably be stupid and get into trouble by picking a fight with a monster   and I'll have to save him. The princess has to save the knight!"

"You do that or maybe you need it to cure something from turning into a monster. It's your choice. Just know that your decision is okay any way. I love you my baby girl." She kissed me on the cheek.

" Alright! I love you too. Im getting hungry mommy?" I put my hands on my stomach.

"Okay. Let's  go inside and make some sandwiches. How about that?" She asked.

"Yep that's fine!" I patted my stomach.

Right when we got inside we heard my brother's scream. Right there he dropped dead on the ground with claw marks in his chest. A werewolf had clawed open his chest right in front of my mother and I.

I screamed and my mother covered her mouth and her eyes were watering.

  And that's how it began.
