6 - First day on Board

The next morning...

"Yo! Woman! Wake up!" Eduardo was shaking my shoulders roughly as he shouted.

"Huh? Jan is that you? Where's the tea?" I sat up and asked with a hoarse voice, still half asleep.

"Who the hell is Jan? Wake up!" Eduardo yelled. I finally came to my senses and looked at Eduardo.

"Oh right, I'm on a pirate ship" I said "What's with that face" I added.

"You annoy me, really." Eduardo replied.

"Why? What did I do now?" I asked.

"You fell on me last night! twice!"

"What? That didn't happen! I'm on the bed right now and if it did, it must've been the rocking of the ship!" I replied, trying to hide my embarrassment.

"Whatever, hurry up, we have work for you" Eduardo replied.

"Work?"

"Yeah, just because you're a princess, doesn't mean we're gonna treat you like one" Eduardo replied. I feel angry again because of that statement.

"I told you, I don't want to be treated like one, this is actually better than those princess training" I mumbled.

"Meet me out on the deck when you're done" Eduardo said as he walked out. 'Ugh, I know I'm acting like a bitch but I just really miss my old life... and I miss Joshua, I'm not even sure if I'm safe with these men, I mean, come on! they're pirates!'

I went to the bathroom and noticed the shower. "What kind of pirate ship has showers?" quickly brushed my brown hair with my hands and washed my face.

I left the bathroom and looked for Eduardo at the deck.

"Wow, it's so bright..." I looked at the sea. It's still early and everyone was still sleeping. I looked around and saw Eduardo steering the ship.

Eduardo was steering slowly and I found myself mesmerized by his beautiful hazel eye.

"Quit staring at me like that!" Eduardo yelled. oops

"O-Oh sorry, I just think your eye looks beautiful!" I replied, I'm trying so hard to hide my embarrassment, my cheeks are probably flushed by now.

"Ummm Eduardo? Did you carry me back to bed last night when I fell?" I asked. He did say that I fell on him twice, but when I woke up I'm still on the bed.

"Yeah" Eduardo replied, It's hard to know what he's feeling since he doesn't show any emotions on his face.

"Well, thanks" I said while giving him a sincere smile.

"Whatever, start cleaning the whole deck, right now" Eduardo said coldly. 'I didn't say anything to hurt his feelings, right?' I thought and took hold of the mop and started cleaning.

...Half an hour later, I was already finished with the whole deck, I smiled at the work I did.

"..."

Eduardo was examining the ship, not saying anything.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked, feeling a bit uneasy.

"No... I'm just surprised that a Princess can clean like this." Eduardo replied with a smug look on his face.

"Not this again, Look, I wasn't born in a fancy house or something, I'm just a 'commoner' and a poor one, until Prince Joshua and I got engaged, besides, this the 21st century, so I obviously know how to clean and take care by myself." I burst out, turning Eduardo's expression into a serious one.

"Why are you so against at Princesses? Why were you a princess in the first place?" Eduardo asked with an irritated voice.

"I'm not against princesses, what I'm against at are the rules on how to be a proper princess, I only became a princess so Joshua and I can be together, it's so hard being a princess, sometimes I think that I should've just fell in love with a normal guy than a prince, then maybe I can live normally, but you can't just tell your heart to love someone else." my voice has a tinge of sadness as I told him.

"...What was your life like before you met Joshua?" Eduardo asked. I hesitated a bit but decided to tell him.

"I was studying and working at random places at the same time, I wasn't very rich, I work at a store once, which explains why I'm good at cleaning, I changed my job frequently because I want to experience a lot, I may not be rich but living a life like that was fun!" I replied with a sad smile on my face, I recalled the memories.

"Oh..." Eduardo said bluntly, awkward silence filled the ship.

"I'm sorry for talking like that, anyways everyone is awake now." I said while grinning at him in fatal attempt to hide my grief.

Eduardo stared at the sea, ignoring me. 'Eduardo is so mysterious and quiet, it's hard to approach him sometimes' I thought as I silently left Eduardo.
