Boredom

(I'll try to make this one a little bit longer...enjoy anyway)

I lay stretched out on the couch, thinking of what to do for the rest of my day. There were no more missions, my paperwork was actually done for the time being(which shocked Rude a little bit, but i didn't care too much.) Tseng wasn't on my ass for something stupid; even Laney was bein' nice for a change. I look around my office; it was actually clean fer once. Rude's out ta lunch; i musta been napping for quite some time.

"Reno."

I lean back over the couch and see Rude in the door. "Hiya Rude."

Rude rolled his eyes behind his shades. "Got lunch for you."

I sat up and caught the sub Rude tossed at me. "Hey, thanks man. How much?"

Rude took a bite out of his sub. "$6.50."

I got up and walked over to his desk, handing him a $10.

Rude smirked. "Thanks."

I chuckled and sat back down at the couch. "No problem man. So whaddaya wanna do after work?"

Rude shrugged.

I barked a laugh. "Figured ya'd say that. How 'bout we stop by 7th Heaven, annoy Cloud a little bit?"

Rude nodded and went back to his sandwich. I smirked; this was gonna be quite the night, I had plans for the busty barmaid...

"You do realize any of those plans will end with either a) she slaps you, b) she kicks the shit out of you or c) Cloud tries to kill you. Again."

I looked up from eating my sub. "Oh shit did I say that out loud?"

"Yes. You're not too good at the whole keeping it to yourself thing."

I laughed and drank some of my soda. "I would hope I was, otherwise I'd be shit at this job, which I'm pretty sure I ain't."

Rude pushed his sunglasses up his nose. "Just because you're good at your job doesn't mean you can keep a secret." Rude tossed the dead pen on his desk into the trash can in the corner of the room. "Take Elena for example. She's great at her job, but she can't keep a secret to save her life."

"...Okay good point." I wrapped up the other half of my sub for later. "Speaking of the little blabbermouth, where the hell is she anyway?"

"I think Tseng sent her on some errands. Probably to get more office supplies and shit for Rufus." Rude leaned back in his desk chair, continuing his stack of paperwork.

I sighed and went back to my desk to get started on my work again. "At least she got to do something fun today. I got stuck with mountain after mountain of annoying paperwork--oww! and papercuts to boot."

"To be fair as much as this does suck I don't think running around Midgar in 100 degree heat acting as a delivery girl is any better." Rude set aside papers to be stapled.

"Okay good point. As least we've had air conditioning all day." I chuckled and adjusted the goggles on my head.

A couple hours passed, Rude long finished his paperwork and I had just finished mine. I went to grab another water from the fridge when I heard a rather frantic knocking on the door.

"Come in!"

The second I opened the door Elena rushed in and plopped herself in the couch in the corner under the air conditioning. "Oh my God Reno I thought I was gonna die out there!"

I rolled my eyes as Elena took a cup of water and poured it on her head. "Laney you were out in the hall for not even two minutes."

Elena let out an annoyed huff, playfully flipping me off. "Doesn't make it any less hot in the hallway."

"Oh like you and Tseng last night before I left?"

Stapler chuck. "Goddamnit Reno!"
