   Reno's p.o.v:

Okay, there must be something I'm not gettin' here. I do everything for mah bossman, which over tha course of one day is a lot. And I do what I can ta not get my head blown off by Tseng or Mr. Shin-Ra, god ferbid. But lately boss man's just been pissed off, didn't matta what anybody did. Tseng was just pissed off. I understand that tha job is stressful, but he's gonna kill himself before he gets killed in the field.

I got up from my desk and walked straight to Tseng's office. Not like I was going to finish the rest of my work now. Not when I was focused on figuring out what bit Tseng in the ass. Hopefully it wasn't Rufus.

Knock knock knock knock knock

"Tseng! Open the door, we need to talk!"

I heard silence for a few brief moments before I heard footsteps towards the door, slowly opening while Tseng stood in its frame. "Come in Mr. Sinclair."

I pushed the door open and walked in, standing in front of his desk.

Tseng motioned to a chair in front of his desk. "Please, have a seat Mr. Sinclair."

Nodding, I perched myself in the chair, staring straight at Tseng. "May I ask you something bossman?"

Tseng looked up immediately (probably cause I was actually polite for once.) "Of course, what is it?"

I played with a lock of my hair while I spoke. "Are you okay?"

Tseng flinched like I just tried to stab him. "Everything's fine, why?"

"Oh no reason, just ye've been in everyone's ass fer pretty much no reason at all and quite frankleh ye've scared a good number of the new peeps and several of the currents are just outright scared of ya. Granted I don't give two shots about them since most of em'll probably get themselves kicked out, but the rest of us, we're worried bout ya."

Tseng opened his mouth to speak and promptly shut it, whatever comeback he had no longer relevant.

"I...I...you're right."

Wait, what? "...what?"

Tseng sat back in his chair, slightly relaxed albeit extremely tense. "There has been things going on in my personal life and I have been letting it cloud my judgement and behaviour here at work. I know it has brought in negative energy and I apologize for that."

... "Ya know ya coulda just said "I fucked up and I'm sorry", and that would be okay too."

"Mr. Sinclair..."

"I know I know, but ya don't have ta be so eloquent all the time."

Tseng sighed and tested his fingertips on his temples. "How the hell do I even put up with you?"

"Coffee, anger management and the patience of a saint."

"I think at this point even a saint would get tired of you."

I smiled and adjusted my goggles. "Well it's a good thing I don't know any saints then."

Tseng shuffled the papers he was working on back into his viewpoint. "True. Now if you wouldn't mind going back to work."

I stood up and have a sloppy salute before walking out his door, shutting the door quietly behind him.

Striding past my office and straight into the break room, I poured some coffee and breathed in the calming caffeine. I let myself get lost in my thoughts for a bit, Tseng could yell at me later and drag me back to my desk. For right now, it was just me the coffee maker's constant humming.

"Reno."

I swear you could almost feel the disgust radiating off my face as I looked up from my coffee, at this point now stone cold.

"Is something wrong Mr. Sinclair? You've been doing that quite often."

I turned to look at Tseng, now leaning on the doorway with his arms crossed and a concerned expression in his face. "Really? I hadn't noticed."

Tseng pulled out a chair at the table, mentioning for me to sit. I placed my coffee down and stretched in the chair. "Something's bothering you, isn't it?"

"And its been bothering you for a while hasn't it?" Tseng leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table.

"...Yeah. I suppose I can't really hold off telling someone for much longer can I?" I felt a sudden wave of exhaustion sweep over me.

"What's wrong Reno?" Tseng took a sip of his own coffee.

"I uh... I kinda lost my apartment." I nervously rubbed the back of my head.

Tseng blinked before his expression softened. "When did you get evicted?"

"Uh this morning, actually. Kinda got set on fire."

"Oh damn. Do you want to stay at my place until you can find one?" Tseng poured a bit more sugar into his cup.

"You'd...do that for me?" I took a big gulp of my coffee.

Tseng nodded and drank more coffee. "Of course, isn't that what anybody would do?"

I had to hold back a small chuckle. "Tseng yer too naïve for this world man I swear."

Tseng however just laughed enough for the both of us, leaning in with a slight wink. "Am I? Am I really?"

"Oh god I don't wanna know now bossman." I faked disgust.

"Wha--- Oh come on Reno get your head out of the gutter I wasn't even thinking anything sexual!"

"I think my mind just has permanent residence down there."

"Goddamnit Reno!"
