"DADDY!! KILL IT!!" Layla screams. I hold onto her protectively, "natsu!! Kill it before it gets away!!" I yell at him.

"DONT YOU EVER MESS WITH MY DAUGHTER AGAIN!!" Natsu yells at the beast. He catches it in his hands and squishes it, "it really wasn't that big of a spider, you could have got it yourself.." Natsu says, dusting the corpse of the spider off his hands and into the garbage can. "Are you kidding?! That thing was huge!!" I complain. I pick Layla up and set her down on the ground off of the coffee table. Natsu takes my hand and helps me off the table after Layla. "Whatever, it was like the size of Layla's Palm." He says pointing to her.

Layla quickly looks down at her hands and sizes them then looks back at Natsu with big eyes. "But that's so big!" She whines. She wrapes her arms around his leg sense that was the only thing she could really reach and presses her face onto his thy. "It could have eaten me!!!" She cries. He giggles a little and picks her up. "If you ever wanna join fairy tail and take on the big jobs, your gonna have to fight things bigger then that," he says.

Layla dries off her eyes a little with the back of her sweater sleeve and looks at him, "but I'll be with you and mommy..." She whimpers. "Mommy and I won't be around forever you know, " he giver her a warm smile and kisses her nose lightly then setting her back down on her feet. I lean over to kiss the toP of her head.

It was the day after the party we had gone to last night. We'd just finished breakfast and had nothing planed for today. Layla sat on the floor playing with her puzzles well natsu and I sat on the sofa with a book.

"Wait what does that say?" He asks, pulling the book closer to his face. I had my head rested on his shoulder well his arm rested on the back of the couch behind me. He held one end of the book and I held the other. I pointed to the word he was confused by, "it says 'recreation',"

"No the one next to it.."

"Of?"

"Oh..."

Suddenly there's a knock on the door. Layla runs to get it. "Hey kiddo!!" We hear a voice call. We knew it was gray and I got up quickly to greet him. I ran real quick to hug him hello and he hugged me tightly back. "Natsu! Come say hi!" I yell to him. He comes walking to the door.

"Hey ice princess, don't strip infront of my kid," he says covering Layla's eyes. "UGH!" Gray says surprised.

After that incident, I go into the kitchen to make some tea. "So what you here for gray?" I ask from the kitchen. "I came to see Layla." He replies. I poke my head out to see him and natsu sitting on the floor together with Layla trying to figure out a puzzle. I walk over with a tray and hand them both some tea and Layla a glass of chocolate milk.

I sit down in the chair by them and watch.

"Doesn't that go there..." Natsu asks trying to sick a corner pics in the middle. "No dimwit! That's obviously a corner piece!" Gray yells at him. "What would you know stripper?!" Natsu yells back. "I figured it out!!" Layla announces putting the last few pieces together. They stare at the puzzle in aw, "how'd you do that?!" They both ask.

I giggle a little bit. Their all just so cute and funny.

Later that day, I took Layla into her room to help her get dressed out of her pjs. When I finished, I walked out with her back into the living room. I herd grays voice before I walked in, "so did you ask her yet?" I pause and listen in for a moment. "No you idiot, she would have told you when you came if I asked her!" Natsus voice says back.

I step in, holding Layla's hand. "What are you too arguing about now?" I ask. Layla let's go of my hand and launches herself onto gray, pushing him down. She grasps onto his arm, pulling it behind his head.
