TessIt had been a weeksince Jeff and I went to my house to get my stuff. I was trying to set up my furniture just right, but this room was a lot bigger than my old one. No matter how I moved it, there was always this giant gap. I had asked Jeff to help me, but he was getting bored and I was getting frustrated. "How hard is it to move furniture?" Jef asked. I sneered at him, and he put his hands up in defense. I giggled. "Maybe if you helped me, instead of sitting on your ass, it would get done faster." I said. He had been a great help, don't get me wrong, but when I asked him to help with this, he just laid on my bed groaning from boredom. He sighed, and got up. I was trying to move a desk against the window in my room, but it was too heavy for one person to move by themselves. He pushed it with no effort and I fell flat on my face. Note to self, when Jeff pushes something, don't try to push too. He laughed at me, so I swung my leg around and knocked him down too. This time, I laughed. I had grown to like Jeff. He was a lot of fun, he was hilarious and he was serious when you needed him to be. Jeff got up and then pulled me up. We finished pushing the desk and stood back to look at the room. Jeff seemed satisfied, but we had been working on this for days, and I think all the interior design was driving him nuts. I walked up to one of my nest chairs and tilted it a little. "There," I said, "Perfect!" Jeff was staring at me. "Do you mean that all we had to do for this to be over is push a desk up against a window and move a chair a quarter of a centimeter?" He sounded pissed, which made me giggle. I took his hand and pulled him out of the room. BEN was waiting at the top of the stairs for us. "What've you two been doing in there that takes up so much time?" he asked. He looked from me, to Jeff, to our hands, still clapsed together. He smirked. "Oh, I see. You two a...thing or something?" He was high, I could tell. Jeff dropped my hand, "BEN," he said, "Do we need to go through this every day? Tess and I, are not a thing. I was helping her organize her room. Now  go the fuck away." I giggled. It's funny when BEN's high because he stares off into nothing and starts thinking about God knows what. "I'll see you guys later." I said and I walked away.

I entered the kitchen to get a snack. I was starving. Thank God my room was done. I don't know how many more days of interior design I could take. I walked to the fridge and got an apple when I heard someone come in. I turned around and saw a girl I had never seen before standing there. She had long raven black hair, a black turtleneck dress, high heeled boots, black lipstick, and black eyes. "Uhh, hi," I said, "I'm Tess. Who are you?" She laughed and stepped closer to me. "So...you're the new addition I've been hearing about, huh?" I nodded. Her voice was soft and soothing. "Well, Just so you know, you aren't as safe as you may feel here. I especially wouldn't trust Jeff. He'll turn on you faster than old milk." I looked at her. "What do you mean?" I asked. She put a fake shocked look on her face. "Oh, he didn't tell you? Well, I would, but it's not my place to speak about it. I guess it has to stay a secret! Sorry sweetie." She took another step towards me. I heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen. The girl turned around, then looked back at me. "Well, I have to go, I'll talk to you later." She kissed my cheek and left through an open window. Jeff walked in the kitchen and looked around. "Was someone in here with you?" he asked. I nodded. "Yeah, some girl. Why?" he looked stunned, then ran up to me. "Did she hurt you, touch you, anything?" I shook my head. "No. She kissed my cheek and then left. Why, who was she?" Jeff hesitated before speaking. "She's no one. No one you need to worry about at least. Not yet." I looked at him. What was with all the secrecy? He never told me anything I wanted to know. I hated being new. New people were always on a need-to-know basis. It wasn't fair. I walked out of the kitchen and back up to my room. There was a note on my bed. It read:

                                                              Secrets, secrets are no fun

These little things could hurt someone

So don't keep quiet, and don't start lying

Because one day you could end up crying                                                   Remember this poem? Didn't daddy sing it to you everyday?-Jane
