Tess

The paper fell from my hands. How, how did she know that? My head started to hurt again, I was getting another vision. The girl I met in the kitchen, she grabbed my arm and pulled me into the woods, started beating me unconscious. I was bleeding really badly, and I was barely conscious. I closed my eyes and my breathing ceased. The vision stopped. I turned around and Jeff was behind me, his face worried. "What did you see?" he asked. I hesitated. "I-I saw that girl, the one that was talking to me earlier. Sh-she kidnapped me and started hurting me. I went unconcious...and my breathing stopped. Jeff, what do we do?" I was frantic. Never had I ever been so scared in all my life. Soon enough Jeff was holding me and I was crying. It had been days since I last cried. "I don't know Tess. I don't know." Jeff's voice was shaky. He let go of me and I looked up at him. "But, whatever happens, you're gonna be ok. No one here is gonna let anything happen to you, I promise." Jeff gave me a soft smile. I smiled back, tears still streaming down my cheeks. I went into my bathroom and splashed some water on my face. I didn't want anyone else to know I was crying again, and I really didn't want anyone to know about my vision. When I walked back out Jeff was gone. I exited my bedroom and went downstairs. I was immediately greeted by smile. I loved Jeff's dog. He was the sweetest thing when he wasn't ripping your throat out with his teeth. I lowered my self to his level and kissed his nose, somethng I would always do to my dog. He smiled and started walking towards the living room. He turned around to see if I was following him. I got up and walked after him.

Near the fireplace there was a cat. This cat also had a smile, but it's looked more natural. Smile growled and the cat hissed. I could tell they were enemies. I never saw the cat before, and I figured  it belonged to Jeff, only because of the crepy smile. I sat down on the couch and started crying. No one but the animals were around, so it didn't matter. Smile and the cat stopped there little stare war and looked at me, then back at each other. They shared some awkward nod and came over to me. Smile laid at my feet, and the cat laid in my lap. I was confused. They hated each other, yet they put all that aside, just to comfort me? Ever since I came here things have been really weird. Everyone is so nice to me and so much like famiy. I didn't get it. I always have had a weird effect on people and animals. Whenever I'm around people, they're usually nice to me and I've always been loved by animals. But, there was always that one person, or one animal, that felt the need to be nasty to me. A boy I knew had always treated me like shit, and my old neighbor's cat would never let me come near it, always sratching me when I did. I remember when I was five, and the boy I mentioned earlier was calling me names and throwing stuff at me. Everyone else thought it was funny and joined him. I had come home crying that day because I wasn't used to being treated like that. My dad had said to me, "Tess, they don't quite know you yet, and once they see all your beutiful talents, they'll love you, I'm sure of it." So, the next day, we were singing songs, and when it became my turn to sing, I had put everyone in some sort of trance. I had made a lot of friends, but the boy wasn't there that day, so he still doesn't like me to this day. I looked down at the cat in my lap and started petting it. He curled up into a ball and started purring. I smiled. I was still crying, but I smiled. I began softly singing "My Immortal" by Evanescence. Smile and the cat looked up at me and smiled. I noticed a collar on it. The tag read "Grinny." Yep, definitely belonged to Jeff. I continued sining, a little louder since no oe was home. Grinny and Smile fell asleep a little be fore the song ended. When I finished, I heard someone whisper, "Your voice is beutiful," in my ear. I must've jumped a little, because Grinny and Smile woke up. I turned My head to see the girl again, who I guessed was Jane. I put Grinny on the couch and got up. Smile got up and started growling. "What do you want?" I asked her. She gave a little laugh. "Well," she said, "Where do I begin? Let's see, I want Jeff dead for killing my parents and leaving me to die, I want to be able to go back to my normal life, before Jeff turned me into this, and, what was that last thing? Oh yeah, I want you." I froze. So many things were rushing through my mind. Jeff killed her parents? Jeff made her into this? And, the one that caught me most off gaurd, she wanted me? I can only imagine what she meant. "What do you mean you want me?" A giggle escaped her lips. "I mean, I. Really. Want. You." So, wait, she's...a lesbian? "Um, you mean, like, as a girlfriend?" Her face brightened. "See? Now you understand!" She leaned in when Smile bit her. She screamed and grabbed her arm. Smile got in front of me in a protective stance. "Little son of a bitch!" yelled Jane. She took out a knife and stabbed Smile in the side. He whimpere and fell over. I fell to his side. There was so much blood, and all I could really do was cover the wound and hope it would stop bleeding so badly. Footsteps were coming towards the living room. Jane glanced to the hallway and jumped out the open window. Jeff had come in and gasped when he saw what happened. He rushed over to Smile. "Go get the first aid kit." I said to him. He nodded and ran out of the room. He returned with the little red box and opened it. "What do we need?" he asked. Tears were brimming his eyes. "Hand me the anti-bacterial spray." He took out a spray can and handed it to me. I grabbed it with my bloody hand and took the cap off with my teeth. I looked at Smile. "Okay, baby, this is gonna hurt." I kissed his head and sprayed the wound. Smile let out a cry of pain. "Jeff, is there a needle and thread in the kit?" He looked and shook his head. "Go get me one, quick." He ran back out and returned with a sewing kit. "Give me a needle with black thread. He grabbed the needle and handed it to me. I sewed up Smile's wound. He gave a little cry. "Now hand me some baby wipes and the gauze." He grabbed both of them and gave them to me. I wiped the blood off of Smile's wound gently with the baby wipes. "Now Jeff, I need you to lift up smile so I can wrap the gauze around him, ok?" He nodded. He was crying heavily, but lifted up his dog. I quickly wrapped gauze around Smile's mid-section. "Jeff, is there anywhere we can put Smile so he can get some rest?" Jeff was hesitant to speak. "Tess, is he gonna be alright?" I touched his shoulder. "Jeff, he's gonna be fine. I've done this a million times before and all my patients survived. Everything will be alright." He looked up at me, tears running down his face. "There's an infirmary up stairs. We can put him there. Tess, what happened to him?" I looked down. "Jane came back. She was talking to me, and she was leaning in to kiss me, and Smile thought she was gonna hurt me, so he bit her, and she stabbed him. Jeff, we need to get him up to the infirmary now, or he's not gonna get better." Jeff held Smile closer to him and got up. We took him upstairs, laid him on one of the beds, and covered him with a blanket. Smile tried to get up, but I pushed him back down. "You need to rest, sweetie. You got really hurt and you need to get better." He gave a nod and lied back down. I looked to Jeff. he was sitting on the floor in a ball crying. I went over to him and held him in my arms. "It's gonna be ok," I told him, "He's gonna be ok." I rubbed his back a bit and sang "Your Hands", a song my dad would sing to me whenever I got upset. I realized it was more of a song for people that went to church, but it always helped me. Jeff looked up at me, tears still streaming down his cheeks, and he hugged me. "Thank you," he said, "For being around for him and for me." I hugged him back. "Only the best for those I care about. We broke apart and gave little giggles. We both loked up and made eye contact. Our smiles disappeared and we got closer, closer, closer, until the space between us was filled, His lips found mine and he kissed me passionately. We moved in perfect sync and he put his arms around my waist while I put mine around his neck. He pulled away and looked at me. I smiled and he smiled back. We kissed again. And this time, we didn't break apart.
