Jeff
She kissed me. A beautiful girl like her kissed a freakish monster like me, and she was still kissing me. I wonder, how did she feel about me? Normally when any girl sees me, they run away. I knew Tess was different the moment I met her, but I didn't realize that she was this different. I pulled away. Tess opened her eyes, which were purple instead of brown. "Tess?" I asked, "Are you having a vision?" She shook her head. "No, why?" "Your eyes, their...purple." She got up and walked over to the mirror on the other side of the room. I got up and went over as well. She stood there a while, gaping at herself. There were other things I noticed about her. Her skin. It wasn't it's usual caramel color, it had a golden shimmer to it. Her hair was a lighter, making it lok light brown and her high-lights almost blonde. Her features were more defined and she looked almost as beutiful as when I first met her. I missed all of her old features, but I knew that she'd still be the same girl that I...um...really, really liked. I looked at Tess, then at the mirror. Tess was in shock, I could tell, but something about her facial expression seemed familiar to me. I looked at her reflection in the mirror, and saw her lips creep up into a smile. Something in her eyes changed. She started...laughing. However, this wasn't normal, everyday laughing. She was hysterical, like she couldn't stop. At that moment, I knew where I had seen all this before. It was the day they took my bandages off at the hospital after I was lit on fire at that birthday party. Oh no, I thought, what's gonna happen to her now? She's gone completely mental! And yet, it makes her even more beutiful. I put my arm around her shoulders. She looked up at me and smiled. I smiled back. Tess walked over to the bed where smile was. I had forgotten that he was hurt. Tess stroked the fur on his head and slowly pulled off the blanket that was covering him. She undid his bandages and looked at his wound. "Tess, what're you-" "Shh, Jeff. Don't speak, or this won't work." She placed her hands on his wound. Smile winced, but didn't move. She closed her eyes and started singing something that sounded like a healing incantation. She started glowing purple and her hair lifted behind her. I listened closely to the song:
Flower, gleam and glow
Let your power shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine
Heal what has been hurt
Change the Fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine
What once was mine
That sounded like the song from that Disney movie.(which Sally forced me to watch a million times) That was an actual healing incantation? It really worked? Whe she finished, her went back to normal...well, how she looked before she sarted sining at least. She took her hands off Smile and backed away. Smile sat up and jumped off of the bed, his wound gone. I was confused. How did she do that? Could she heal people all along, or did this come along with her new appearence? Questions roared through my mind and Tess put a finger up to my lips. "Jeff, stop asking so many questions, I can only answer one at a time." She heard my thoughts? She could read my mind? WHere did these powers end? "Tess, I haven't said anything yet, you do realize that, right?" She looked at me, puzzled. "Jeff, does this mean-" I nodded and she hugged me, full of joy. I hugged back, except I was nervous as hell! She could be in real danger with these new found powers. God knows what could happen to her. And then there's Jane. If Jane finds out not only that Tess has these special powers, but that I care about, Jane will take her away and do horrible things to her. I pulled away from the hug. Tess looked at me. "Isn't this great? I feel like a real Pasta now!" I looked at her. "Tess, I'm happy that you feel like one of us, I really am." "But." she said. I sighed. "But you could be in real danger. If you're unsupervised for one second, then there's no telling what could happe to you." She turned away from me, as if she were thinking. After about a few minutes, she turned back. "Well, then I guess I can't be unsupervised, can I?" I shook my head. "Not for a while, no." She took a step towards me. "Well," she said, "Who's gonna be the lucky guy to look after me until I'm fully trained?" I shrugged, jokingly. "I don't know, who?" She giggled. She walked closer and closer until she was about two inches from my face. I saw where this was going, and it gave me a weird feeling in my stomach. She leaned up and kissed me. I liked when she kissed me. I pulled her into me. She put her arms around my neck and ran her fingers through my hair. It gave me goosebumps. She made me feel...normal. We broke apart and she smiled at me. At that moment, I knew how much she really meant to me, and that I had to keep her safe, no matter what danger it would put me in.
