"Violet? What are you doing here?"
"Johnny? Johnny!" I scream and run towards him, jumping into his arms and wrapping my legs around his waist. He wasn't burnt anymore, and his jean jacket was in his hand.
"Why are you here? You should be back with the gang!"
"What do you mean?"
"We're dead. Me, you, and Dally." Dally? He was dead? Wait, I'm dead.
"What? No," He nods and lets go of me, smiling.
"Hey, little red," Dally messes with my hair and I groan, Johnny laughing and fixing it.
"We're literally dead and you're worried about your hair." Johnny smiles. Just then, I realize we were dead. Not because Johnny said we were, but because Johnny was smiling and laughing. He was away from his parents, and he was happy.
"Wait, Johnny? Did you mean what you said earlier?"
"The whole 'I love you' thing? Of course I did." I smile and blush, kissing his forehead as I look around. We were in the park where Dally and I died, but it wasn't raining anymore. It was sunny and bright. "So, uh, y-you wanna be my girl? You don't have to, I'll be fine if yo-" I shut him up by kissing him, Dally clearing his throat.
"Come on lovebirds, I wanna go check on Pony." He starts walking away, Johnny grabbing my hand and following him. My hand wasn't broken anymore, and Dally and I didn't have holes in our chests.
The gang was sitting in silence, looking at the empty couch where we used to sit. "What's wrong with them?"
"Hm, I don't know. Maybe the fact three people in the gang died?" I go to the fridge and grab a coke, the coke falling from my hand onto the ground. The gang ran in as Johnny pushes me into the bathroom. He pulls Dally in and closes the door quietly.
"What was that?"
"I'm sorry, I forgot I was dead." I whisper, Johnny laughing quietly.
"Why are you whispering? They can't hear you unless you want them to."
"Oh."
"They can see you, though. If you let them."
"Can we let them see us for a second? I wanna talk to them." Johnny nods and opens the door, his skin tone going back to normal and the scar showing up on his cheek.
"Johnny? Violet?"
"Soda, what are you on about?" Darry sighs, Soda walking closer and pointing at us. Dally rolls his eyes next to me and lights a cigarette, making me cough and try to grab it from his mouth.
"Look!" The whole gang looks at us in shock, inching closer to see if they're seeing right.
"Guys?" Pony had tears in his eyes as he pushes everyone else back, stopping real close to us.
"Hey there, Ponyboy." Everyone gasps and I laugh, forgetting I was dead for a second.
"Johnny!"
"Violet?" Two was crying too, making me roll my eyes. They shouldn't be crying, I mean, everyone dies sooner or later.
"Hey dude." Johnny grabs onto my hand and Two smiles, rubbing his face to get rid of the tears.
"You're together! Finally, oh my god."
--
"We gotta go." Johnny tells me as we sit in the lot, waiting for Dally to come back. He was going to mess around with the cops that killed us, but I didn't want anything to do with it.
"Where?"
"Anywhere else. I want us to travel the word, and it's easy to do when you're dead. I mean, we can just pop up anywhere." Johnny shrugs as Dally pops up, making me jump.
"Where you wanna go?"
"Can we go to California?"
"Anywhere you want, darlin'. Our adventures begin."
