"What's going on, Dal?" Johnny says, Pony greeting Dally by a smack on the shoulder.

"We're early," Dally blows the smoke out while leaning against the pole. I sigh and look at Johnny, who was staring at the other side of the street.

"What do you wanna do?" Pony shifts his weight so he's leaning to the side, making him look like a sassy diva. I shake my head, putting my head on Johnny's shoulder as he looks at Pony.

"Nothin' legal man, let's get out of here." Dally starts walking back, making me take my head off Johnny's shoulder and start walking. When Dally turns around, he quickly moves to the side and checks out the soc walking by.The boys follow as I compliment her outfit, then walking faster to catch up with them. Dallas was walking like he was a huge deal, making the rest of us look like pieces of lint. I think we were all perfectly fine with it, since none of us wanted to be a big deal.

"How's it goin'?" The boys lean on a car and talk to the people in it, while I look around at our surroundings. There was a fight going on, but I don't think anyone was really paying attention. But, everyone turned around as the person in the yellow jacket gets punched, then getting thrown into the side of a car. The guy gets up with a blade, making me grab onto Johnny's hand as I tugged him away. My main concern was making sure Johnny didn't get hurt, Johnny was basically all I care about.  Dallas stood behind the car, watching as the guy tried to get people to fight him.

"Come on, let's go." Dally starts walking away quickly, making sure the cops didn't get us in trouble again. We joked around for the rest of time walking, Dally making fun of Pony while I played with Johnny's hand.

"Soda, here come the hobos." Steve says as we reach the DX, making me roll my eyes.

"Hey,Sodapop!"

"I ain't got no cash," Soda rolls his eyes as Dally takes the windshield wiper, Steve coming up and standing next to me.

"Wanna buy a windshield wiper?"Dally starts moving it around and Steve tries to grab it, pushing me closer to Johnny. Steve tries to grab it again, and rips it from Dally's hand.

"Give him the money." Soda sighs, Steve groaning and handing him money.

"Alright, let's go." Pony says, Soda grabbing my collar and pulling me back.

"Gotta talk to Violet. She could catch up with you guys later." Johnny looks at me and I shrug, Johnny doing the same and walking away with the boys.

Steve and Soda just stare at me, making me raise my eyebrows. "What?"

"You know."

"I really don't."

"Dallas? Really?" Soda laughs, leaning on the gas thing as I roll my eyes.

"I panicked! Wait, how do you know?"

"Everyone knows you love Johnny." Steve says, hitting the windshield wiper on his hand. I blush again and shrug, Soda smiling and poking my cheeks.

"Our daughter is growin' up!" I roll my eyes and smack his hands away, giving him a dirty look. Soda and Steve always joked that I was their kid, only because I have the same skin tone as Steve and the same nose as Soda.

"Leave me alone. Any other reasons why I'm here?" Steve and Soda just look at each other before shrugging, Steve going back to the car and Soda going back to looking pretty. Soda was obviously a pretty boy, and when we first met I accidentally called him attractive.

"Hey guys, sorry I'm late." I ran up to where half our gang was standing, stopping in front of Johnny. They all dismiss it and Johnny moves so he's standing next to me.

"Okay, everyone who is comin' is here, let's go." Dallas rolls under the fence, making me stop. Johnny stops next to me, looking as confused as always.

"I'm not going under there. This skirt is new and I'm not getting it dirty. I'll go through the front."

"But there are Socs," Pony says as he slides under the fence, kneeling to help Johnny under.

"I'll be fine, I'll meet you in there." I say and walk away before they do anything else. The short amount of time I was alone, all I could think about was Johnny. He needed to be protected at all costs.

"Hey pretty lady," I reach for the blade hidden in my jacket pocket, but a hand is placed over my mouth. I kick their leg and go to punch them in the face, stopping when I see Two-Bit holding his leg.

"You little asshole! You scared me!" I place my hand on my heart while slapping him.

"Sorry sweetie," Two shrugs and goes back to flirting with the people in the car. "Wanna see what's hangin'?"

I cringe and go back to finding my spot, finally finding Johnny getting a drink. I squeeze past the people waiting in line, mumbling a sorry as I reached Johnny. He looks a tiny as usual, which I found adorable. Johnny was very insecure about a lot of things, but his height was the the he was most insecure about. Personally, I adored Johnny's height. He reminds us almost every week that he wasn't that short, and was five seven and a half.

"Oh, hey Violet."  He smiles and I suck in a sharp breath, trying not to giggle at how cute he is.

"Hi Johnny, have you got enough money? I can pay for you if you want." I get myself some popcorn, Johnny nodding and paying the cashier. I pay for my own stuff and follow Johnny to our seats, sitting on the other side of Pony. I look around for Dally, but he's nowhere to be seen. Not a surprise.

"How come I don't see your brother around school anymore? Has he been working full time since your parents died?" The girl in front of us asks as Dally comes back, handing her a pop. He hands the red-head in front of him one, sitting down next to her.

"Here, thought this might cool you off." I cringe at what he says, leaning back so I won't get in the middle of a fight. She just looks at him for a while, before throwing the drink in his face. I start laughing, Johnny glancing at me to make me stop.

"Maybe that will cool you off greaser! When you learn how to act decent, I might cool off too!" Dally wipes his face and leans towards her, grabbing onto her.

"Fiery, huh? Just the way I like em'."

"Guys, get him to stop."

"Shouldn't you, I mean, he is your boyfriend." Pony says, making me roll my eyes.

"Pony, we all know we aren't dating, now shut your trap and help the poor girl." Cherry was still trying to fight him off, everyone just watching. I slap him in the head to get his attention, but it doesn't work as he keeps forcing himself on her. I see Johnny glance at me before standing up, trying to get him to stop.

"Look, leave her alone, Dal,"

Dallas stops, looking right at a nervous Johnny with shock."What'd you say?"

"Come on, you heard me, leave her alone." I smile at Johnny as Dallas glances from the red-head to him.

"What'd you say , you little shit? What'd you say to me?" I hit him on the shoulder when Johnny softly says something back, Dallas running his tongue along his lip. "Wise ass."

"Dally, will you shut your trap?" I roll my eyes and he turns around, staring at me for a while. He was trying to make me scared, but it wasn't going to work. It's Dallas for christ sake, a boy who comes crying to me every time he's drunk. Which is practically all the time. Dallas isn't as tough as everyone says he is, but I'm not going to tell anyone that.

After he realizes that he doesn't scare me, he turns back around and wipes his face off dramatically. He stands up, hitting his chair back onto my legs as he storms away, all of us watching him leave.

"He's such a drama queen, I'm so sorry about him." I say as I set the chair back to normal, the girls turning around and looking at me.

"It's not your fault. Aren't you his girl anyway?" She asks and I start laughing.

"God no. Never in a million years."
