A bit disappointed, I walked with Aria and Kimbra to the sun room after politely saying goodbye to everyone. When we got to the sun room and the tea was served, Kimbra had asked if I had wanted anyone in specific to invite. Of course, I added Damien and then I mentioned Lexi and had her added to the list of invites.
Once she went over the entire list, we went into invitation designs. I picked something clean and simple. I liked the linen texture paper with a white backdrop that had a silver floral border. The font was a little darker in color, which made it stand out, but the shimmering texture of the letters kept it looking elegant.
Kimbra and Madam Pavoni drilled into my head that every detail was important when planning events since it described me so just picking one wasn’t going to cut it. I had to pick up every sample. Look at it, feel it and compare it to the others. This was the invitation I would use for every single event I hosted and they were not going to let me slack on the smallest of things. And even though it sounded tedious, I actually enjoyed it.
Once the invitations were settled, we went to the dining room where a display of sample foods were spread onto the table. I picked what I wanted to serve, which took a good hour since Aria and I were having way to much fun eating the cucumber sandwiches and trying to catch grapes in our mouths. Unlike Madam Pavoni, Kimbra didn’t scold us when we did this, but instead let us be and have a bit of fun and even tried a couple of times. Madam Pavoni on the other hand, wore a disapproving frown, which I ignored. Kimbra was a much more laid back that what I had first thought of her.
At dinner I found out that Damien had left and things were quiet until I walked to my room after a quick etiquette lesson with Madam Pavoni.
I received a call as I walked up the stairs and smiled at the name on the caller I.D. I swiped the phone’s screen to answer and I quickly put the phone to my ear as I whispered, “Hang on. I’m walking up the stairs.”
“I don’t want to talk. I want to see you. Can you teleport to the island?”
“Of course,” I replied with a small laugh. “Haven’t you seen enough of me today though?”
“I will never see enough of you.” I could practically see his smile and his answer made me laugh.
“Okay. Give me about five minutes.”
“I’ll see you soon then,” he said before we both ended the call. I put my cell phone back in my pocket and quickened my pace. I consciously walked down the hall to the library, but I got an odd feeling that I was being followed. When I turned around for the 3rd time to find that no one was there, I decided to write it off as paranoia. I found my way through the library and to the secret room Aria and I had found. The paranoia hadn’t vanished when I got there, but I still couldn’t see anyone. So I simply teleported against my better judgment deciding that if there was someone watching me, there was no way they could figure out where I was going.
Once I got there, Damien wrapped his arms around my waist from behind me. He kissed my neck and whispered, “Have I mentioned how happy I am to have you here?”
“Mmm,” I hummed, “Not that I can recall,” I teased turning around to face him. He chuckled and gave me a long kiss and I wrapped my arms around his neck in the process. “So why were you so eager to see me?” I asked once I caught a breath.
“I wanted to make sure that you still weren’t a figment of my imagination,” he replied simply.
“That’s it?”
Damien flashed me a warm smile and laughed. “Of course not.” He leaned in close his lips almost touching mine again and said in a low and husky voice, “I want to take every minute that I can to do this.” And he kissed me, with much more passion than the previous.
