I was sitting in the living room. Watching the rain hit the window sill. As my playlist played in the background. I was waiting for my mother to come home from work. She wanted to talk to me about something. Figure I should just wait here since she should be her in about fifteen minutes or so.

"Hey," Chris says sitting next to me.

"Hey."

"I told Scott and Shawn. About your pregnancy."

"I know they messaged me. Didn't think you would have the guts to do it."

"Well, they don't know that she's mine."

"I know that too, Apparently I had a one night stand," I say raising an eyebrow at him.

"I-I didn't know what to say."

I shrug my shoulders." I don't know why I expected more from you."

"I- I'm trying Amber."

"Are you? Because it looks to me that you're trying to cover your ass by basically telling everyone you know. That I am a slut because they think I don't know my child's father. When really he is sitting right next to me."

He sighs looking at me with sorrow in his eyes. "Will you stop giving that look," I say.

"What look."

"The look you're doing right now. The look where you regret getting me pregnant."

"Well, that's because I do. I didn't want this to happen."

"Well, I don't. I don't regret having Katie one bit."

"Katie?"

"That's her name. After my grandmother."

"Look, Amber, I'm sorry. I just don't know to do."

I let out a dry chuckle. "Neither do I. But you don't see me dragging your name through the dirt. Even know I should."

"Look. I really want to be in Katie's life. Just give me some time."

I shake my head. He can't be serious now. He actually thinks I'm going to wait for him. "No, you either show it now or don't show it at all. Because I'm tired of you bullshit."

"Amber....."

"No Chris just stop okay. Just stop."

He tries to grab my hand but I pull it away. Getting up from the couch.

"Where are you going?"

"To my room. And do yourself a favor. Stop thinking I'm coming back because I'm not.I'm fine just doing this on my own. Have been for the whole pregnancy anyways."
