Today is the day of the interview. I'm still laying in his bed, but Liam is in his bathroom getting ready. Last night, I brought a bag over and we watched movies and made out until we got sleepy. His bed is so soft and warm that I don't want to get up. My boyfriend comes out of the bathroom with wet hair and nothing but jeans on, a sight I could look at all day let me tell you. I look at his shirtless body and see his abs. Damn. I should be getting up though, before I make us both late to this important interview.I sit up and run a hand through my messy hair, sighing lightly. Liam has his back to me as he searches through his closet for an appropriate shirt to wear. I throw the blankets off of me and the cold air hits me like an ice bath. It probably doesn't help very much that I'm wearing pajama shorts and one of my brother's old band tees. I hop off the bed and go toward the corner of the room where my bag is and grab my outfit for today; a white tank top, a nice cream and gray sweater, a maroon scarf and a pair of dark jeans.
It's starting to get even more cold outside, and I'm not one to turn into a Popsicle as soon as I leave my house. "I'm gonna go shower in the guest room, baby." I say, looking over my shoulder. When he turns his head to look at me, I turn toward him and walk backwards slowly. His eyes shift down to my bare legs momentarily. "Okay," he says, nodding. I start to turn back around but then he adds, "Dress warm." with a protective tone to his voice. I chuckle, nod and then exit his room.
I've learned my way around his house by now and it's actually not as easy to get lost in as I originally thought. I've also learned that his sinks can detect the temperature from the thermostat and automatically heat to a counter temperature; it's some very high tech stuff actually. Shivering, I start heating my water and then I gather my towels. I realize I forgot my toothbrush in my bag and being lazy as I am, I just grab a spare one from the drawer and use that instead.
My shower warms me up from the cold and I don't want to get out but my fingers are getting wrinkly. I sigh, cut off the water and dry off quickly before slipping into my warm clothes. You know that kind of warm where you sit your clothes by something hot and slide them on after being cold? It was that type of warm. I look in the mirror and start braiding my hair to one side, realizing that it has gotten insanely long, almost to my belly button. Maybe this weekend I'll go get it cut.
I decide that I look good today so instead of wasting time on a full face of makeup, I go back into Liam's room and apply my favorite lip stain color in his wall mirror. The stain is a dark shade of red, almost burgundy and it compliments my hair color and outfit perfectly. I'm so glad that I brought it. I apply clear lip gloss over the stain because the alcohol in it can dry out your lips dramatically— so I've read.
Liam comes out of the bathroom fully dressed and ready to go just as I finish applying my mascara. When I turn away from the mirror his eyes widen and his lips part a tiny bit. "Wow." is all he says. I blush and look down shyly as he approaches me and wraps his arms around my waist, burying his face in my neck. I smile at how awed he is and deeply breathe in his comforting scent of cologne and mint. I giggle as his nose tickles my shoulder. "You look absolutely stunning, Vivianne." he whispers, and then kisses me just below my ear.
It takes fifteen minutes for us to get to the building that the interview is in and by that time I'm nervous. "Are you sure it's okay for me to be here?" I ask softly, wringing my hands. "Of course it is. Trust me, I know this lady, she'll be happy to see you." he assures me. I lace our fingers together as we go through a door. I can hear the chatter of a huge studio audience not very far away. He leads me through past the door leading to the stage and continues down a hall.
"Liam! Right on time, darling! We were beginning to get worried!" says a woman as she stands up.
Jennifer and Josh are sitting near her, being powdered and prompted to go on stage. "We're here, sorry about the wait." he says, glancing at me and giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. The woman's eyes look at our interlocked fingers and then at me. "And who might this be?" she asks as she glances between the two of us. "I'm Vivianne Hartley. Nice to meet you." I outstretch my free hand toward her and smile brightly. She takes my hand in hers and shakes it. "Likewise." She then excuses herself and let's them know that someone will be coming to escort them to the stage door shortly.
I quickly let go of Liam's hand and hug Josh tightly. "You're nervous?" He looks between Liam and I but directs the question mostly towards me. I nod quickly making him chuckle at me. "I can tell," he says. I raise my eyebrows questioningly so he elaborates. "You're shaking." he says. I nod again and inhale deeply, feeling my boyfriend wrap his arm around my shoulders and kiss my temple. "You'll be fine. We all know that you both deserve each other." says Jen.
"Liam, Josh, Jennifer, we're almost ready for you on stage."
