We're sitting on his insanely soft couch, eating pepperoni pizza and watching The Titanic. Yes, The Titanic. It was his idea, not mine. Okay, okay, it was more of a mutual agreement. The pizza tastes like a little piece of heaven and we're both stuffing our faces. Between the two of us, we finish an entire large pizza. When it's gone, I frown, almost wanting more but feeling too full to actually eat it. It's times like these that I wish the human body digested food faster. The struggle is too real."That was probably the best pizza I've ever had." Liam says, grabbing the empty box and placing it on the coffee table.
"Definitely."
There's a huge empty space between us, so I casually scoot closer to him until our knees are touching. I notice that he seems to always give off heat and the comforting smell of cologne and mint. Somehow, in the moment the distance is too small so lean over to rest my head on his shoulder and breathe in his scent. Immediately, his arm lifts and wraps around my shoulders. I try not to smile and give away the fact that I'm crushing on him, but I can't help it as I feel his warmth radiate through my body.
I am pleasantly surprised to find that Liam can recite half of the lines from The Titanic just like me. Despite that fact, we both yell at the screen like we'd never seen it before which is both hilarious and ridiculous at the same time. Somewhere near the end, I look over at him and see that he's crying. Literally, tears are streaming down his face. I look at him for a good two seconds before he notices me looking at him and quickly wipes his cheeks.
"Aww, Liam, were you crying?" I say in awe.
I lean forward to look into his eyes and see that they are full of tears. I'm not going to lie about the fact that I found that to be quite hilarious, but when I start laughing, he pouts. "It's not funny." he says, crossing his arms. I have to take a minute to breathe after laughing so hard. "That's so adorable that you still cry even though you've seen it a thousand times." I say, grinning. "Well if I tickled you a thousand times, would you still laugh?" he asks.
I decide to be sassy and say, "Nope." making sure to pop the 'P' at the end. Liam raises his eyebrows. "Is that a challenge?" he asks, smirking mischievously. I pretend to think. "You can't tickle me if you can't catch me." I say, jumping up and taking off. Liam's right on my heels as if he knew exactly what I was going to do. I make it all the way through the kitchen and up the stairs before I feel strong arms enclose around my waist. He sweeps me up off my feet and tickles me until I can't breathe from laughter.
"Stop!" I say, laughing through tears. "I surrender!"
Tired from running and laughing as well, Liam falls to the ground next to me. I can hear his breathing slow down as we both catch our breath. I almost fall asleep in the silence and calmness of it all. After a while, I decide that I should probably go home so I grab my phone, my clutch and my outfit from last night before following Liam out to his car. As soon as we step outside, flashing lights stun me. I yelp and cover my eyes.
"Liam, is this your new girlfriend?"
"Is your name Vivianne Hartley?"
"Are you and Liam a couple?" a microphone is shoved in my face but I keep my head down as Liam grabs my hand and quickly leads me toward the car.
"Damn paparazzi." I hear him mumble under his breath.
I continue to blink constantly and Liam notices this when we both get in the car. He starts the engine and asks if I'm alright when I rub my eyes. "Yeah, the lights just caught me off guard." I explain, blinking some more. He still seems to look concerned but I'm not exactly positive because I can't really see that well at the moment. I assure him that I'll be fine anyway, even though I can feel my headache coming back.
Liam drives me home with the help of my directions. I'm renting a nice sized, two bedroom house not far from his. It's nice, but nowhere near as nice as his. He walks me up to my front door, making me smile yet again at how gentlemanly he is. When we reach the door, I turn to him and say, "Thank you for not letting me drive drunk and inviting me into your home... and for ordering pizza for me and..." I trail off and blush, knowing that I'm rambling as I've noticed that have a tendency to do around him.
Suddenly, he reaches out and touches one of my burning cheeks. I look up and gaze into his eyes which I, despite the darkness, can still see clearly in the night. "I really like you Vivianne Hartley." he says softly. Smiling, I place my hand on the back of his neck and gently pull him down to my height. His large hands find my waist to help me balance on my tip toes as I bring my lips up close to his left ear and whisper, "I really like you too Liam Hemsworth."
I see a flash.
