"We should sing" Miranda slurred as she fumbled walking up the hill, giggling each time she tripped
"It'll take too much energy" Johnny said. Miranda stopped and gave him a drunk, not impressed, look.
"That's so lazy!" She giggled. Roy shook his head in frustration and put her over his good shoulder. They continued to walk for another 600 feet or so before a low growl stopped them in their tracks
"What was that?" Miranda asked quietly as Roy swung around to look around himself, forgetting that the girl on his shoulder had a massive contusion on her head and was most likely hemorrhaging. The growl came again.
"It's a bear" Johnny said cocking the handgun. He was the one who carried the bullets in his socks and he reloaded the gun. Didn't seem like the best storing place, but it's all he thought of.
The growl came again and Miranda squirmed off of her partner's shoulder and landed on her feet
"Give me a gun" She said and Roy gave her, his. They lined up in a position so they each covered each others 4 o'clock and a dark shadow ran across the path on Roy side's
"My way" He whispered and Miranda and John broke onto his sides and the bear didn't stop running
"Should we pull a flare?" Miranda asked John. He shook his head no,
"Not until we get onto the road"
"Wait!" Roy said. The others turned immediately to the baffled man.
