The steady beeping of the ICU machines were almost soothing to Mike as he watched his sister lay still. She had no brain damage except for memory loss, but otherwise, she would be fine. He saw their step mother standing outside the door, looking in through the window. He stood up and went to the door and quickly went out. He took off the scrubs that they would have to wear to keep it sterile.
"What are you doing here?" He asked as burnt out as possible
"They alerted me too" Christia Wilson said with a scoff. She was the last person that Mike and Miranda's father ever married before he died. Their family was big and confusing. But the never gave anyone titles of stepmom, half brother, or any bullshit stuff like that. They were family somehow...
"You'll need to wear scrubs if you want to go see her" Mike said handing her a set. Christia nodded and put them on and went into the ICU room. Slowly, Hank and Marco came over to see her.
"How is she?" Hank asked, pacing the floor, not daring to look at his rookie that laid still in the hospital bed
"Stable. She's unconscious but the doctors did it for precautionary measures..." Mike said, he seemed whole again, "She's going to be fine.. There is no brain damage and they say if she wants, she can come back to the station" He said with a smile
"And the odds of that?" Marco said with a half smile
"Highly likely" Mike said with a smile, "They said that she'll be waking up soon then 2 people can go in without any of these stupid scrubs" he smiled at the last part since it was ridiculous anyways
"Great" Hank said with a bite to his lip. He hid away his feelings from his crew, the apprehension of his newest member's strength.
