~Jack's POV~
I woke up and heard water shut down.
I rolled over in the bed and a few minutes later, Mark walked out of the bathroom while drying his hair. He was wearing a sweatpants, but no shirt. "How did you sleep?" He asked. "Ok, I had a nightmare though. But nothing to worry about." I said while I stared at him. I just couldn't control my gaze. "What was the nightmare about?" He asked while walking towards me. I still had my eyes focussed on him.
He sat down next to me, which shook me out of my thoughts. "Well, it was all dark and... I was scared. But then you where there and hugged me" I said with a small smile. "But then your grip loosened.. and you fell to the ground.. And.." I let out a shaky breath. "And you had a knife in your back." Mark gasped a little. "I fell to the ground, crying, hoping that you would wake up. But you didn't. Then, an evil voice started to talk to me, but I didn't care about the voice. I wanted you to wake up, but then I woke up." I sighed.
"That sounds horrible, Jack." Mark said as he went in to hug me. "Yeah, but luckily it was just a dream." I said. "Indeed." Mark said as he let go of me. We sat in silence for a few moments, while I stared at his chest again. But I shook myself out of my gaze and spoke up.
"Maybe you should go look at Ryan.. And Matt." I said. Mark nodded, but didn't move. I stood up carefully and stretched out my hands for Mark to grab them. He sighed a little but grabbed my hands. He stood up straight in no-time.
"But, maybe you should put on a shirt first." I stated, starting to blush a little. "Maybe I should." He said with a little smirk. I threw my pillow at him while I laughed. "Fine, I'll do it. No hot shirtless dude for you, I guess." He laughed. My face heathed up again and I grabbed the pillow from the floor, put it in front of my face and fell face-first onto the bed. When I looked up from the bed a few moments later, Mark had already put on a shirt. "Ready to go?" I said, with a faint blush on my face. "Not really, but I'm as ready as I'll ever be." He smiled. He then walked out the door to Matt's room, but I didn't want to miss the conversation, so I followed him.
"Hey, Ryan. How's Matt doing?" Mark asked in an uneasy voice.
"How I thought he would be doing." Ryan answered. You heard that he had been crying.
"What actually happened to Matt? Why did he snap? And, how did you stop him? You must now what's going on.."
"Do you want me to tell you? Because there's so much more then you think there could be." Ryan answered blankly.
"Yes! Please?" Mark really wanted to know the truth, or at least the truth that Ryan was going to give him.
"Well, fine. While you where trying to keep the truth from us, we were more involved then you ever were. Matt and I are poisened. They can control us whenever they want to, but we have a weak spot. They injected Matt first, so I knew his weak spot and stopped him. He has a 50% chance of waking up."
"How? How did I not know anything about this?" Mark asked.
"What I'm trying to tell you is, there is much more to this community then you think. The killed ones are not the only victims, we are too. And realise that I could turn on you every moment. So get Jack and get out of here!"
I heard movements but I did not leave my spot next to the door.
"But.." I heard Mark say.
"No! I don't want to hear it. Get out! To an hotel or something, I don't care. I want you two out of here!" Ryan said while the door opened.
"I don't want to hurt you!" Ryan said as he pushed Mark out the door and shut it behind him.
Mark then saw me on the ground next to the door. He had a frightened, yet confused look on his face, but it softened when he saw me.
"Let's go grab our stuff.. I guess.."
